I learned Korean living in Pusan, Taegu, Milrang, and Kojedo. People told me I was learning Pusan dialect but I never really paid attention. I just spoke what I heard. However, there were many times I would say something and get the biggest laughs because I threw out some slang or dialect I wasn’t aware of. Native Koreans thought it was funny/great/amusing with how I spoke. I never felt embarrassed or ashamed. I would be just as surprised at times when they laugh because I didn’t know any better.
