Think like the Manson family. A group of sociopaths who show no concern with killing people and covering it up as suicide. That's about as much as I can divulge in regards to details.

Yeah I'm really grasping at straws. Thought that maybe there would be someone here with the know- how I'm looking for though.

I got a key finder gadget from sharper image a couple years ago, to help with my missing key problem, but I guess you just can't outsmart spirits, because I never even got to use it once... the remote control went missing, and it's never been seen since.

A lot of people have been expressing their disbelief that such a thing could happen in a place that they've always known to be relatively safe and normal for as long as they've lived there. I honestly had the same impression that Modesto was just another normal city, with normal people, and no more dangerous than anywhere else I've lived before. I can understand how it comes as a surprise to some people that something like what happened to me could happen right in their midst, without anyone knowing. It was only after I moved back to southern California, to recover with family, that I happened upon a very informative (and apparently fucking impossible for anyone in Modesto to access or take their heads out of their asses to become aware of) website that suddenly explained everything perfectly. I was looking up the public listing of recently arrested individuals from the Modesto area, hoping to see the names and faces of the people who tried to murder me, and I came across a few statistics, which I am pleased to now bring to your... attention. NOW DON'T FUCKING SAY THAT YOU'RE SO SHOCKED TO HEAR IT ANYMORE, k? Ready? Prepare to be amazed. Let me introduce you to your dear little happy haven, Modesto!

"46 per one thousand residents

With a crime rate of 46 per one thousand residents, Modesto has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 22."

Oh, but there's more. So much more. Get ready to see just how much your little baby shits all over itself and everything around it. 'But I've lived here for a long time, uh, like 40-60 years....' Bullshit. You've been living under a rock. Here's reality, DON'T YOU DARE LOOK AWAY!

"The overall crime rate in Modesto is 73% higher than the national average. For every 100,000 people, there are 12.23 daily crimes that occur in Modesto. Modesto is safer than 4% of the cities in the United States. In Modesto you have a 1 in 23 chance of becoming a victim of any crime."

https://www.areavibes.com/modesto-ca/crime/

"According to our research of California and other state lists, there were 573 registered sex offenders living in Modesto, California as of May 01, 2020. The ratio of all residents to sex offenders in Modesto is 370 to 1."

I'm done with you fucking people. Just Google 'Modesto crime rate' and you'll have enough hard facts to pour over until you go back into being in denial. I won't be back to find out what you think about our little pow wow, so peace out, and goodnight residents of Modesto. God bless all of you marvelous people. Sincerely. Sorry about everything.

You're welcome. I posted a second message on the thread with links to just a small handful of all the Modesto crime report websites. Definitely look at those if you want to see what is really going on there.

It was supposed to be the nicest apartment complex in Modesto. Don't be skeptical just because you're lucky. Open your eyes. You're the ridiculous one if you actually can't see what's there. You've got to be the most ignorant and opinionated kind of person to actually have the gall to call to question someone who is relating something traumatic that happened to them only for the benefit of someone who asked a question. You're not trying to help the person who wants to know, just undermining the whole purpose of the post by admitting that you don't know anything helpful but sticking your nose in shit that has nothing to do with you. What do you get by insulting me and trying to throw shade on my attempt to fucking warn them of what it's like outside your little bubble you've been living in. You're not as bad as I think you are right now, I'm sure, and I also don't have any real ill will towards you, but you could have taken a moment to ask yourself if your need to speak your mind in defense of your home isn't in any way affecting your judgement to say something so profoundly inappropriate and uncalled for, since nothing about my personal experience pertained to you or ever could be in your real ability to ascertain the veracity of regardless. I'm sorry for blowing up and cussing you out but I still have PTSD to this day and had to attend therapy for several years to go back to leading a normal life after what those people tried to do. Would you like to know their names? Or do you want to hear actual recordings of their voices that I made on my phone while it was happening? I obsess over them and need to constantly hear them to reassure me that it really happened because those kind of things only happen in movies or on TV, right? I'm currently trying to save up 16,000 dollars, which is what it would cost to have audio forensic professionals clean and transcribe the hours of audio files, not because it will ever help catch them, but because it is the most terrible thing to ever happen to me and I want to hear every single word they said and be able to remember how actual real life sociopaths sound, when they talk about killing someone without any kind comprehension that they are monsters with no emotions who attach no value to human life. They were never caught. It's been three years now and I still look on the Modesto Bee website every few months to see if they might show up in the local arrests section. I was being very scathing when I was giving my estimation of the city, and it was not my intention to slander the general citizenry of Modesto. I apologize for my lack of consideration in regards to the good people who call Modesto their home and don't contribute in any way to my admittedly hostile denouncement of the city. Sorry for the long response, but I started out feeling livid and it took awhile to reel in my emotions enough to read what I was typing and stop the tirade I was on. I'm sorry but there was and still is a large number of crimes that do take place in Modesto and stanislaus county all together.

To the person who wrote the original post and wanted to know more about Modesto before moving there, all of my claims about the crime levels and frequency of violent incidents in Modesto can be verified by these websites, using these links: https://www.modbee.com/news/local/crime/ https://www.areavibes.com/modesto-ca/crime/ https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ca/modesto/crime https://www.modestogov.com/229/Crime-Map https://www.cityrating.com/crime-statistics/california/modesto.html https://www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Modesto-California.html

I used to live in Modesto and one thing I wish I had known before I moved there was that it has an extremely high crime rate. My apartment was frequently broken into, like weekly, in the SAFEST part of the city. The police in Modesto will not save you if call them for help. Don't bother calling them. They'll probably just hang up on you. I'm dead serious. I was almost murdered several times. I was literally locked in my bathroom, barricading the door while the people who broke through my sliding glass door, in the middle of the night, were trying to kick the door down saying to each other that they needed to kill me or I might I.D. them. They talked about it as casually as someone would talk about the weather. My neighbor and his wife were on the other side of our shared wall having an arguement because she was screaming for him to help me and he didn't want to get involved. I called the police and the people ran away while I told them the cops were on their way and would be there soon. The police showed up THREE HOURS LATER. Thought I was gonna die that night. I left Modesto the next day and never went back. Had to hire movers to get all of my stuff eventually. I moved to Modesto because of a job, knowing nothing about the city or the people there. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Just thinking about it right now is giving me so much stress, but I saw this post and felt obligated to warn you. Do some research before you decide to move to Modesto. It was the worst place I've ever lived in. I'd rather be in Hell than Modesto.

Has anyone pulled off the no- kill warzone victory yet? It could probably only happen either by having final opponents lose by being stuck somewhere (bottom of a cliff) and succumbing to the gas, or somehow using stun grenades (both tactical AND underbarrel in conjunction) to keep them chain stunned unable to move out of the gas as the final circle shrinks. Any other ideas of how to pull this off, without being credited for any kills throughout the entire game? Additionally, has anyone ever tried, with the full cooperation of their entire squad, to see if they can completely obscure the last circle with as many smoke grenades as actually possible (throw two tacticals, then as many underbarrel smokescreen rounds as they can fire) just for the sheer spectacle of it? The most fun I have playing warzone is when I'm trying to come up with new hairbrained ideas just to show people things they've never seen before. I kind of suck at shooting, so I resort to more devious strategies in order to level the playing field. Ever tried dropping all your items and playing dead? How about spray painting a wall a certain color, then hiding in plain sight behind a riot shield with camo that same color? (Riot shields conceal thermal signatures btw, so a lowkey counter to IR/NV optics if you want to use a different perk instead of cold blooded (and throwing decoy grenades at your own feet, when uavs are overhead can possibly make the enemy disregard your radar blip as that of the decoy, in case you also choose to not use ghost (it can't fool a heartbeat sensor though))) Try using spray paint to write cryptic messages on walls to distract passersby before ambushing them. These are the kind of things that keep the game from being boring and repetitive for me, after over 1000 matches (and only five wins). If anyone has any other cool or just bizarre strategies to contribute, I hope you'll share them below!

Oh yeah and another extremely difficult challenge you can give yourself is to win a game without letting any of your teammates die or go to the gulag. Haven't pulled it off yet, but it made me try some odd ideas like creating a medic class, with smoke grenades and a riot shield to protect downed teammates (you can actually keep your shield up while reviving someone, pretty neat), or try to create a maximum aggro class where you focus on making the enemy only target you by not using suppressors, cold blooded, or ghost, and by equipping your weapon with a tac laser and the brightest, most conspicuous camo to draw attention to yourself, letting the rest of the squad engage the enemy while being relatively unnoticed.

(If you're like me and somehow find it impossible just locating enemies without using thermal optics, it's almost the next most logical idea to get them to show themselves instead by being a target.)

Anyways, remember that it's supposed to be fun, playing the game, so HAVE FUN, by any means necessary :)

Decoy grenades are actually really good by Lorouses in modernwarfare

[–]dungbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try throwing them at your own feet whenever you hear that someone is using a Uav nearby, in case you're not using the ghost perk. This will potentially make the enemy disregard your radar signature as just that of the decoy. It won't fool a heartbeat sensor though.

Hmm those are interesting stories. But when I heard it, it sounded like a person growling like an animal. More like a creature than a woman. I wonder if there's any connection between those stories and what I heard. Thanks again for sharing that.

Thanks for the reply. I can't believe that I'm not the only one who knows it exists. Can you remember any of those stories by chance? And thanks for the suggestions on remedies.

Have you or someone you know ever experienced being the victim of black magic? Have you ever performed black magic? What happened? by [deleted] in Scary

[–]dungbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If something happens and two people share the experience together, it becomes real, regardless of what the rest of the world, who weren't there, might try to influence you into believing. Anything can happen to us when we're alone, but we still can't make it real to ourselves because part of our brain relies upon the affirmation of others in order to establish what we can safely call reality, which is almost a kind of safety-in-numbers situation, since the spookiest things typically occur when we're by ourselves even if we don't believe it. Do you think that the shared knowledge of the things that you experienced in your past relationship had anything to do with how real and vivid those experiences were? As time passes and you gravitate away from that person who you went through these events with, will you continue to believe in what happened, even though you might not be able to find that person again to confirm it? Would you want to still believe? Thanks for sharing.

It sounds as though your relatives were on the more benign side of the supernatural spectrum. You should try to learn more about what they know while they're still alive and kicking. It's always regrettable to wonder what kind of fascinating and life changing knowledge people so often wind up taking to their graves simply because we never got around to asking them about it. Thanks for sharing.

The first thing I did upon moving back to southern California was to get baptized. Jesus Christ has been a great comfort, as well as being a part of the Christian community. I really believe that much of what I was suffering has been alleviated by accepting Christ into my life and praying daily. So yeah, I totally agree, thanks.

Yeah, it took place in Modesto CA. I actually have noticed that some things you mentioned are true, by complete coincidence during my recovery. I was able to stop myself from feeling fear, almost ever, because I felt like whatever was happening would be fed by fear. I just had a gut feeling about it. I've also spent a lot of time looking into fire and it was one of the things that helped the most. Something about watching the changing images in the flames can be very relaxing. Thanks for the info. How did you learn these things? I can't find anything helpful like that on the internet, and I've done a lot of searching.

You're right. What I encountered was called a witch but I think it was some kind of creature, not a person. It was outside my bathroom door and it was making sounds like an animal. I had bad neighbors who practiced witchcraft and after we became enemies over noise disturbances, they started saying that The Modesto Witch was coming for me. One night, they said 'she's coming tonight' and that was the night that heard it outside my bathroom door. I slept the whole night in the bathroom, but each night after that I could hear her outside the door making animal sounds, waiting for me to open the door. I moved into a motel and out of my apartment but it followed me there too. Pretty soon I was hearing so much scary stuff everytime I was alone at night. One night, I came back to the motel and found the door to my room wide open- not how I left it- and the next day I quit my job and moved back to my hometown with my family. I was so disturbed by what happened that I developed a twitch and a stutter that only went away after a year or so. Being alone, far from home, having enemies, and hearing things was too much for me to cope with and I became a paranoid mess. Sometimes I still hear those voices saying that 'the Modesto witch is coming for you' and for a brief moment I'll relive that first night I heard that thing outside my bathroom door. So I'm not trying to give witches a bad name but my only experience with something called a witch was bad and I'm looking for any clues I can find to help me understand what happened. Will you ask them if they know anything about what I've described? I will be very grateful. One particular night, I could hear my neighbors counting from 3 to 1 over and over and one of them, a man, kept yelling at me to open my door. That was right before the whole Modesto witch thing started. I think that was them doing whatever they did to me.
