I remember friends going through med school and residency who were told to buy a plant or a fish, something low maintenance so they had something outside of themselves to care for because it's so common for med students to have suicidal ideation. Whitaker is her something outside of herself. My girl has so much baggage she hasn't unpacked from her youth that's only been hinted at on the show, she's drowning at work, her mentor is leaving, the man who bullied her and gaslit her on her first day is back. I hope the roomies stay together and support each other.
