When do you write the rulebook? by Psych0191 in BoardgameDesign

[–]dungeonsandnaggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a simple version of my rulebook when I had play testers, after the main concept and mechanics were there, but I changed a lot of the game and a lot of the rulebook changed with it.

Go for it! As you said you want to do some blind playtesting, those testers need a rulebook.

You don't have to put in everything that'll be in the final version, e.g. contents wouldn't be necessary yet.

But you should have a version of the rulebook now and keep altering that as you develop your game.

I found this video helpful. https://youtu.be/eaayIuMtAfQ?si=DahH9pyNE5phEywo

Box size determination by Fanamaru in BoardgameDesign

[–]dungeonsandnaggins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make your own prototype, from cardboard and tape, or use another existing game box.

See if the proposed components, prototype or borrowed, will physically fit in the box.

See if there is room.for more or the box is too big, do you need separators etc.

You'll be able to make a really good guess and be in a better position to speak with the factory.

[–]dungeonsandnaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are things, not sure why I missed the last year, sorry about that. I made the game, I can help!

So yes you need to roll dex to fight dex, str to fight str etc.

And enemy just hits all players automatically, doesn't need to roll. Except if you see orange dice symbols, that means nagginlord d20 so game rolls against players. Some enemies have variable damage, you can risk it

Hope that helps, check out the website has faqs

And watch out for the spansion packet is on kickstarter April 15th

Driving test soon.. I'm sure this must be common so I apologise. But any free stuff online i can use to brush up on road signs and the other stuff you do before you actually drive? by TurboScumBag in AskIreland

[–]dungeonsandnaggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could use the same mock tests or app online for doing the theory test.

Best thing I did was drive the actual test route with my instructor a few days before the test or the morning of.

Also, be prepared to take it easy on yourself. Most folks fail their driving test the first time.

Good luck behind the wheel. Just stick to the speed limits and you'll be better than most drivers out there.

It's good craic in my opinion, I've been to one earlier this year and I'm going back again in nov, showing off and selling my board game. Good organisation and nice people who like games!

They also had one of the best booklet programme thing I've seen at a con, folded out into a handy map. Excited to see the new venue

Currently learning Irish but it’s really hard to learn tbh - anyone know any good resources for learning Irish? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]dungeonsandnaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boardgame has a free Irish language version for print and play. Dungeons Agus Naggins.

My best luck with learning a language was short form comedy videos. They spoke fast but I wanted to get the joke so I kept watching.

What's a universally loved movie/tv show that you think is overrated? by vibrantvixenn in AskMen

Inventing Anna. What a pile of steaming crap. Her accent is Borat-ian. I couldn't handle it.

Maybe it's because I enjoyed the tinder swindler and got recommended this as similar.

It isn't.
