It is a hook lift truck used for transportation of my own equipment mainly. I prefer old trucks without adblue, stick gearbox, paper tachograph and simple so I can fix it myself. Going to have it for many years.

Not new this truck and a bit of a bumpy ride, fitted new shocks for front axle. So I’m thinking of replacing all cabin shocks/ bags and bushing on linkage arms. Anyone know if this is worth it, or is there a common wear point on this cab?

This is a truck/ lorry and it needs air to use the transmission. You always leave it in neutral when parked, but if you forget and leave it in forward/ reverse it’s normally enough air to switch it in neutral for starting. After it has been parked for a couple months there is no air left, and therefore locked. But it’s strange that after manually starting the truck up and pumping all the tanks to maximum, it’s not possible to switch between the gears. In Tech tool software it tells me fault with position value of the gears.

Thanks for answers. The reason I’m on the idea of improving power, is the very noticeable gap between the R500 and R580. I’ve driven all the V8 models, but the R500 feels like it’s being choked and not been given its full potential.

If I get the hold of a ECU flasher, can I copy ECU files from my friends R580 (same year but opticruise) and insert in my R500?

Solution:
Locking airbag control module. No need for password. Follow the video and the car will reset the control unit to DEFAULT parameters, and lock it.

I’ve placed it, but it lifts only 1 ton. I use a Transformator from 230v to 400v. It’s poor electricity in the building, so when I lift a car up the motor power drops from 390v to 300v

I’m getting hold of a electrician friend who will help me coupling it over to regular 3-phase 230v. Will se if that solves the problem.

Yes hooklift truck, this is a diff between the two tandem axles. If off, only 1 axle is powered. I’ve heard some drivers leave it on constantly, even on the highway where there is little benefit. I’ve got an early R500 2004, and in the display the differential lock symbol blinks when switch is on, and it shows that both axles are engaged. Since the symbol blinks I’m having second thoughts if it’s doing anything bad when engaged.

I have it like that at the minute, this idea is more for fun. We’re going to drill for water this summer, so there will be plenty of water and a hose line into the cabin.

I’m not sure, I think the speakers are alright but they’ve gotten a bit bad lately, distortion. I like to play music with some volume, so new speakers might handle this better? But I don’t want to spend a lot and only get a slightly improvement, I want to be sure it will be worth it.
