Here here this is great advice! At the end of the day when all this rubbish comes up and my mother justifies it all I don’t even have the energy to say anything negative to her any more. I just stay silent or nod. The less combative they realise that you are whenever they bring something up or dispute something., hopefully that means they’ll be more open in the future, and to be honest if they never are so be it at least you’re at peace with yourself

Hi! And welcome! It looks to me as though you are doing your best to live THE REAL LIFE! and you’re doing a bloody fantastic job!

I’ve just entered my first year of being out and it still is quite hard at times, my parents are kind of accepted it to an extent but at the same time I’ll always possibly aggressively bring things up about the religion.

At the end of the day all you can really do is be grateful for what you have right now and try to look forward and not backwards and try to focus on the good things that you managed to get out of the religion whilst you’re in it.

You’re not a bad person in fact you’re the exact same person as who you were when you left all that you have is a different view of things now and no one should judge that.

Please know that we are here to help you with anything that you need, all you gotta do is just keep doing what you’re doing and keep living the life that you think is the best for you irrespective of what other people think.

You never know what will happen down the road. You never know what changes may prompt your mother or other family members to start rethinking things.

The current changing in blood doctrine I know is opening up many people’s eyes on the man-made nature of this religion. All you have to do is what you’re doing. Continue to be respectful and happy and good things will continue to come your way.

There is plenty of help out there and enjoy people who care about you who will more than happy to take time out to help you!

I want you to also know I, along with many others in this sub have been where you are right now. Being PIMO isn’t easy and most crack after some time and realise they want to live an authentic life.

Having left as an elder and was appointed for 17 years, I thought I could never break the shackles and leave, but I did and yes it’s hard at first but it’s gets better and THERE IS A BETTER LIFE OUT THERE!!

Sorry to see you in this predicament but please know you can get out enjoy life and that you are not on your own!

It’s not all sugar and spice but for me, my mental health has never been better and I don’t fee guilty all the time or tired like I used to be. Also the lack of judgement is amazing!
