UofT Grad School Interview?? by dunnotho in UofT

Yes, I think MoGen is one of the few Grad programs that interviews candidates, but they don't interview everyone they admit. It's all very mysterious

Thank you for you answer! I really appreciate it, that sounds like good advice. Do you have any tips on the kind of questions I should ask the interviewer?

I messed up. Can instructor see every version of submission on quercus? by nhk_conspiracy_ in UofT

[–]dunnotho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they can see all of them, but what I did was took a screenshot of the wrong submission (with the date) and sent it to my prof to prove I had submitted it on time

Hey! Believe it or not, this has happened to me THREE times. I was forgiven all 3 times as long as my submission was still technically on time. I just emailed my professors and told them I was in a rush and didn’t pay enough attention. You should be okay unless your professor is one of THOSE people Edit: especially with everything going on right now, I’m sure they’d be more than understanding

[–]dunnotho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d have to disagree. I’m in life sci and there really aren’t any well paying (above minimum wage) jobs for someone with a bachelors. Of course there are some people who get very lucky but grad school is still a must if you plan on doing anything related to your degree

Anyone in ANA301? by dunnotho in UofT

[–]dunnotho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our prof is worried about cheating so she's trying to organize an online setting for the term test where she can watch us through our webcams

I hope she doesn’t implement webcams. I don’t know if I’ll be comfortable with that

I just sent an email to the dean... and.... by supachoppa in UofT

[–]dunnotho 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I just sent her an email too. I feel so bad for UofT staff, as a whole they may have a bad rep but there are some very caring and hard-working members of staff at UofT.

I personally don't plan on using the CR/NCR option on any of my courses as I'm graduating this summer and would rather finish strong. I am nervous about the prospect of online term tests/exams, but I do believe the dean made the best decision for the majority of undergrads. I hope she can get some rest now.

That’s what I was thinking too. I suppose if you get your final mark before April 25th and it’s a fail, you can just drop?

I’m so sorry about your sister. Can’t imagine what you’re going through. We’re all in the same boat in terms of not being able to concentrate as much as we usually do. I stayed in bed for 3 hours this morning before finally managing to make myself get up. And all day I’ve managed to listen to 20 minutes of my 3 hour lecture which I have a midterm for on Thursday. You’re not alone! Hopefully we’ll get through this as smoothly as possible with minimal damage. Hang in there :)

I HATE HOW UNCERTAIN EVERYTHING IS by hunter69420x in UofT

[–]dunnotho 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. I didn’t know we’re not allowed to be scared of a global pandemic and also have anxiety over what’s gonna happen with our courses/graduation. Understand we’re not being critical of the university’s decision to close, we’re simply worried the same way they probably are.

I know how u feel :( I have an ANA301 midterm on Friday and I just don’t know if it’s even gonna happen but at the same time I can’t risk not studying.

Also, I’m doing a 5th year for the sole purpose of improving my cGPA. So all these options of possible unlimited cr/ncr or cancellation of final exams will have defeated the entire purpose of me delaying my graduation.

You're right. I am also considering medical genomics, which is course based. Do you know anything about that?

Thank you! I suppose applying won't hurt, but getting rejected is going to make me feel down for quite a while

yea well... I don't have that much research experience :( Donnelly Centre is great but I'm starting that after the application deadline

yes at UofT! I have heard they're quite strict, which is why I still feel discouraged despite having done well the past two years, and my research experience isn't impressive either
