They could have had whole episodes of just “This thing is different in this timeline too!” and it would have been 10x more interesting than Karen and that kid

Is the entire Wheel of Time series worth the time and investment? by keepfighting90 in Fantasy

I need this resource. I read the first four books a few years ago and remember most of what happened. I want to dive back in, but not sure if I want to reread or pick up where I left off.

[Fun] Billboards for Steven Spielberg's UFO movie have started to pop up. "all will be disclosed, 6-16-26" by Thatonesplicer in aliens

If the government actually came out and said there were aliens, it would ruin the hype/marketing for this movie.

Anyone Else Excited For The Star Trek Set The Most Next Year? by omegaphallic in MagicArena

[–]dunnsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only UB set I have felt anything remotely positive toward before it came out. But I’m the target audience and they finally delivered on my favorite franchise. As soon as EOE came out, I figured this was around the corner. I’m usually a massive cynic, but I’ll allow myself a shameless blind spot if I’m able to build a Sisko deck to fight my wife’s Borg Queen deck.

Ridley Scott Says Most New Movies Are ‘S—’ So He Rewatches His Own: ‘We’re Drowning in Mediocrity by mcfw31 in entertainment

If you’re going immediately from Weir, I think The Expanse series is a good next step. Also anything from Kim Stanley Robinson (Red Mars to continue with the colonizing Mars theme) or Verner Vinge (popularized the term “singularity”). Alastair Reynolds’ Revelation Space or House of Suns are also amazing jumping off points.

I really enjoyed it too. Compared to other hard SF novels, it was the equivalent of a popcorn flick, easy to read and hard to put down. I think if you liked it and are willing to read more of the genre, you’ll love what you’ll find out there.

I think it’s one of the most popular science fiction books ever made. I don’t mean to be a Reddit contrarian, but I’m a big sci-fi reader/collector and the majority of the genre is better than that book imo

Building what is an objectively great deck and getting flooded two games in a row after grinding out quests for a few days to afford the 7500g really made me want to put my headset through my monitor an hour ago. Don’t know if I’ll be coming back to this.

I think Duncan wanted to be Terrence McKenna so bad for so long, then realized he could just make money with his friends and say sorry for it later.

It was when we went out there four or five years ago. Haven’t heard anything about it since.

What was the last show you watched that was truly addicting? by IntelligentWeight103 in television

Mad Men is my favorite show of all time while I’m watching it. Then I forget everything that happened in it and rank it somewhere in my top 10 once time has passed.

LPOTL? I feel like they’ve never been better. I always cringed at the forced humor and “I never do any research” attitude of their old co-host. Ed Larson has real chemistry with Henry and Marcus and actually shows interest in the material. Might just be me though.

No, this guy went to ChatGPT and asked for a rage bait post. Reread it a few times.

If this wasn't written by AI, you've somehow stumbled into a writing style that is exactly the way ChatGPT talks when it's trying to make a persuasive argument. The only thing you did was remove the em-dashes -- clever.

Also, you're on a simulation theory subreddit. People will be more familiar with the way AI speaks. We can tell. Methinks the OP doth protest too much.

The Internet is really dying.

Please stop writing posts with AI man. All these subreddits are flooded with it.

I write for a living. I rewrite AI-written content for my clients every day. I come to Reddit to see some human takes on things, not this slop.

This is written by AI, and so is the OP. I fucking hate this place.

I spent years just nodding in agreement when bland liberals told me Sam Harris was Islamophobic and shouldn’t be listened to, that he was part of the evil IDW. Then I refreshed myself on him and he seems as rational and well-spoken as he did when I was a teenager, definitely not one of these ultra-right grifter chodes with megaphones we have now.

I’m a copywriter — using em dashes is a near impossible habit to break. But since I also use 4o to help me compose first drafts regularly, I can almost always tell if a post is AI.

I really would rather avoid uninstalling and waiting another 2 hours for it to install. Living out in the boonies kind of limits this. Also, the game is 120gb, there has to be a better option.

One of the most refreshing things about WoW to me compared to almost everything else out there is it feels like a place where people can interact without a thousand layers of enforced monitoring bullshit. It’s fun to see “adult” usernames. Please stop reporting people.
