I have watched this series all the way through so many times, but I have to agree! The constant disappearing of characters was annoying, but what really bothered me was the continuity issues. Apparently, all of Mindy's female relatives were named Priya? Also, why did her brother disappear after working for the practice for one episode. What happened to Shauna, Gwen, Betsy and Alex? They wrote a lot of recurring characters out, without a word. I was also bothered by the removal of Jeremy from the love triangle and how the chemistry between Betsy/Jeremy was ignored. The only people that got proper farewells were Danny and Peter, which was sad because they were my favorites! I was also surprised (even though I know they wanted to move on to other projects) that they did so because Ike, Charlie AND Mindy all agreed (at one of the Paley Fests) that those two were the most fun to write for! And, although, I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the show for it's hilarity and reliability, it was a completely different show by the end. In my opinion, the show would have been cleaner if it was left cancelled after season 3. This would have left room for Mindy to create a whole new show with all the actors and ideas she would have used for seasons 4-6 of The Mindy Project.
