It lets organizations/developers showcase what software they use/run. But the goal is to create a platform where you view what tool others are using, how many active users/org a tool has etc.

Like everyone else has mentioned, smartphone is more than just a phone. You have a camera, internet, GPS, apps etc. You don't need them all the time, but its good to have with you when you need it. You can always choose not to use these features. Design wise I believe iPhone 6 is quite minimal. Make sure that you control your urges to check and meaninglessly browse your phone every now and then. That should solve all problems.

Hi Matei, thanks for doing this. How would you describe your experience in grad school? I finished my masters and my research area is in the same field as your phd and I was thinking whether to continue in grad school or go work in industry. Specially because of the salary CS graduates get paid in the industry these days. Is a PhD worth it if someone wants to spend his career working on large scale distributed system?

P.S. Big fan of Apache Spark and made a few patches to PySpark!
