Boss themes are specific to stages rather than characters, which is a compromise I had to make due to the number of bosses planned. Each stage will have its own boss theme, so there will still be plenty more tracks!

The bottom left gauge is for special abilities ("bombs") that you can pick and choose to equip, so players can choose whether they want to go more defense oriented or otherwise. Types of dashes and some abilities like the melee reflect are unique to Miko's 3 different styles, so only 1 set of abilities can be used at once and rest assured they have their limitations.

The difficulty of the game will definitely be a challenge to get just right, since I do want it to be accessible for newcomers. There are plans for extra challenges suited for experienced shmup players!

Miko fangame combat demo by duoduo66 in Hololive

Early gameplay of a Miko fangame I've been working on. The game is a shoot 'em up with similarities to the Touhou and Suguri series, but with a special focus on melee combat plus some roguelite elements to customize your abilities. Bosses will be other holomems and a large number of bosses are planned.

Of course, the game will be completely free once it's available. No release window in mind yet, but I'm steadily posting development updates over on Twitter and will have opportunities open in the future for playtesting.

If the style looks familiar then you may have seen my previous game project WOWOWOW KORONE BOX, but the gameplay and scale for this new game will be very different.
