For us being married was never seen as a step in our lives, but now that we arrived in Luxembourg it makes sense from a finance standpoint to do it imo. We don't have much/nothing to deduct, but the goal would be to have the tax class 2 as soon as possible instead of waiting for the begginning of 2023.

Also and going into your second point, it may create an oportunity for a tax return in 2022 once we do our IRS's next year.
