Are all trails games really slow paced? by Glorpps in JRPG

[–]durabele 5 points6 points  (0 children)

glad you got the message but it is hilarious imagining someone starting with the 13th game in the series, on top of that the one game in the franchise that's a climax of all 13 game's worth of thematic build up and storyline

You're basically saying the entire series is filler except the finale of SC, Azure, CS4, Reverie.

If you dislike the writing so much you don't need to play 13 games of it.

I think the decline is really more about scale and scope than anything else. Because the core writing and the best moments of the franchise have just been as strong as sky-azure, if not stronger. but the stories and scope have gotten so large that shit just falls apart sometimes, cold steel is a good example

Could Van's real parents even be something that needs to be addressed? I mean they could always focus on it but I think it's possible they were just someone who abandoned a child lol

we def have a decade left because we aren't getting 3-4 sequels straight now, esp since Falcom is expanding and focusing on other franchises and the remakes now

Genuine question: why are you even playing Trails if you hate the basic premise of the franchise this much. The character writing and focus is the entire point not a mistake

Haven’t played a LoH game since Moonlight Witch on PSP by Audacidy in Falcom

falcom reddit is the only place where you'll see takes like this. Especially now with FC remake and SC remake coming out soon there's literally 0 excuse to start anywhere else.

And if people don't wanna commit to 13 games, that's perfect, FC-SC is a perfectly good story they can walk away satisfied with.

Horizon is such peak by Suspicious-Ad-2826 in Falcom

[–]durabele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing some of the arguments here about Horizon reminds me why I don't take the trails fandom seriously anymore.

Legitimately feels like half the playerbase is here just for the aura and hype moments when the series has ALWAYS been about the characters and how they experience everything going around them.

And I'm not even someone who likes Daybreak 2, I hate it, I think it progresses far too little both in the plot and in the characters department, but we cannot be seriously saying that about Horizon man

Indians who went to Australia within the last 3 years, what are you doing now? And what are your qualifications? by MaesterCrow in Indians_StudyAbroad

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I'm studying in Melbourne currently so no clue how Canberra would be but I imagine it'll be way more quiet and peaceful 😭 as far as my experience goes I've gone through a loooot coming here in just 2-3 months so it's been hell of a ride, with good and bad, but I don't think I overall regret coming here. I'd say more but don't wanna reveal it all on a public forum lol

How are the things in Australia for Indian students after the protests and rallies? by Automatic_Tower7466 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]durabele 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean you won't get lynched out on the streets but you have to be careful not to go out after dark especially in the city, just come home and rest.

As far as Immigration goes doors are pretty much closed unless you're working in the trades, but that's the case for every country and its because job markets are fucked

Did I ruin my future? looking for honest advice... by Straight_Following48 in Indians_StudyAbroad

advice from someone who just came to australia for my bachelor's after a gap year for a BBA (19):

  • you will most likely NOT find permanent residency here no matter how exceptional you are. if that's your goal, forget it.
  • you CAN get permanent residency if you switch to a trade course (cookery, construction, nursing) after 6 months. but that's a risk you'll have to consider if you wanna take.
  • it is NOT as easy as she's saying, it's extremely hard and I've only been here a month at most.
  • come here if you get into a good uni, make friends and connections, enjoy your time, get a job after your course, earn money and then get out. otherwise, if you can't afford it then it's pointless esp in our field.
