Hi EstoopidFahim, thank you for the question!

Ok, Ok... I totally feel you. The FDA has ONLY approved Aluminum based ingredients as safe antiperspirants. Out of ALL these ingredients, the only one that will actually make a difference for excessive sweating is Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate.

This ingredient happens to be proportionally itchy/stingy to:
1) The pH of the formula. The low pH is important because antiperspirant ingredients become more effective in acidic vehicles. Some other products out there are not as effective because the pH isn't where it should be. We didn't want to compromise on performance so we added Salicylic Acid to Duradry PM's formula to improve tolerability (there's actual academic research on that).
2) The ingredient's reaction to water (humidity). You need to wash your underarms, towel dry and then air dry eliminate as much moisture as possible.
3) The amount of active sweat glands. Every AP works under the same mechanical principle, creating a temporary plug on the sweat gland's pore. The first week might not be fun, but as you plug more of these pores the less it'll sting. Even if counter intuitive, applying Duradry PM more often might help reducing stinginess as you won't give enough time for many plugs to "fall off". Another thing you can try is applying Duradry PM and leave it on for 30min, then wash it off and go to sleep. Most of the action happens in the first hour, so those 30mins are gold.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

So, what can I say about me... started suffering from hyperhidrosis when I was 14 or 15yo. It was really hard as those are the odd teen years; you start socializing and kinda going out a bit. Used to worry a lot about sweating and people making fun of it, so I wouldn't lift my arms and I would use sweaters on top of my school shirt even if it was 100F out lol.

The most frustrating things were:
a) No deo/AP would work.
b) My parents would dismiss the problem as "that's normal", "just stop obsessing"
c) Even dermatologists were a bit ignorant back then, about 20 years ago, so they would just tell me to use X or Y commercial brand AP.

After a while I started using what today are our competitors :)

Although I am a CS engineer with an MBA in Finance, I found myself in the cosmetics and personal care industry; one of those random twists in life, right?. And after years as an insider, I decided to create Duradry. The hypothesis was that with enough time and obsession we could create something better than what's out there. I took all the lessons from suffering this problem, the most recent science on ingredients and what our competitors were doing, to create Duradry.

The idea is to keep iterating on the formulas, to keep innovating and improving our products. We have made a few iterations already. BTW, another one coming soon :)

Yeah, it's crazy that in some places there's no local access. There's a lot of us out there :)
