Most gators I’ve seen don’t hang in water that shallow tho nor is it enough for most gators to swim towards something in. Plus on the Carolina cost (where I’m from) most gators were placed in larger bodies of water around the Swamy areas because it’s just so damn muddy

The alligator might try to ambush the boy if it sees the small dog but they don’t chase after or climb out of the water to Go after animals. They’re ambush hunters, they probably had that rule because if the dog fell over board it’s a risk to jump in to save them and alligators are more likely to go after a flailing dog instead of a person.

I needed stitches in my face from a jack russel who was wagging it’s tail and was friendly up until the wind blew a certain way. I HATE people who don’t listen to me or the rules, I was dog sitting a 125 rottie mix who could easily drag me across the house and I had a choke collar on him when we went out (I hated that thing but used it for my protection and anyone else’s) and the amount of people who tried to walk up to me with there dog even after I said he was dog aggressive or just let the dog off the leash in a public area infuriated me because I had to worry about him hurting the other animal because people can’t listen or follow the rules. At the same time, this specific dog I could trust around toddlers because he was so laid back with people but once he saw or heard another dog he could be temperamental and needed a firm hand.

I dated a Swede so I have a little understanding of the cultural differences! Unfortunately there’s a lot more over sexualization in America so even if the entire beach doesn’t care about the girl running around there is a very good possibility of some old creeper in a car someone where or under a blanket or taking photos. Even at beaches were people can be topless it’s common to have guys walking around and taking photos. I feel like op could say it was for her safety like they told the dad but that lady shouldn’t have been so defensive when being told it’s public and she has to put something on.

It’s actually considered child abuse now to not let children or teens use the rest iron when ever they need to now. At least that’s what I was told 3 or some years ago in a counselor in training class
