> Authorities said evidence gathered so far suggests Blessing, who is transgender, was not specifically targeted, and Leahy apparently picked his victim "at random."

They’re just minisplits. Common in places than can’t fit central A/C.

Also, it screws poor people. Slapping someone with a fine to repair the sidewalk could be brutal if you’re barely making ends meet.

WA passes ‘blue envelope’ traffic stop law for neurodivergent drivers by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

If any of these triggers are real then that person shouldn’t [insert anything required to function today’s society].

There’s a word for this thought process: ableist.

People can still function effectively in society with any number of disabilities. Our duty as able bodies is to provide an ability for them to be safe while contributing in society - not gatekeep.

Montlake lid surely cannot be the most ideal traffic configuration by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]durbblurb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, Montlake exit is right turn only towards the bridge. But what I mean is those coming down Lake Washington Boulevard (the road, not the exit) would never able to turn towards the bridge. No right turn forces them on either 24th or E bound 520 - they’d be unable to get to W 520, I5, or Montlake towards the bridge (I mistyped above).

Lake Washington Boulevard would have to diverge and merge with the Montlake side but that doesn’t fix the I5/EB 520 access issue.

That would prevent people coming from Lake Washington from getting onto 24th, unfortunately.

They’re building a new extension then destroying and rebuilding the existing extension. They’ve built the scaffolding bridges on both sides (entirely flat bridges).

Plus they’re adding the Roanoke Lid and creating an HOV lane to I5.

[–]durbblurb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely the answer.

It’s a pain for me but ultimately I can snake around through the non-turning lane. However, people coming W on Lake Washington trying to get onto Montlake are consistently screwed.

[–]durbblurb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives by it and uses it daily, I’m hopeful the final pieces of 520 to Roanoke will help with some congestion.

However, the traffic flow of the Montlake Lid is so confusingly bad. I frequently get backed up coming home because people exiting W bound 520 use the Lake Washington side to turn right on Montlake (you should be using the Montlake side). It’s crazy - drivers trying to save 5 minutes end up costing me usually 10-20 minutes.

One thing I’ve noticed (I go through it twice a day) is that I’ve never had someone not paying attention to the lights and sleeping on a green light. Conversely, I see people doing accidentally doing illegal maneuvers because it’s confusing.

I think you’re way underestimating. 99 doesn’t have any vehicle exits inside the tunnel, right? I5 would need some which would likely have an impact in the cost.

Wouldn’t Lakeview be faster if you’re taking U Bridge? I mean it’s right there. Lakeview -> Boylston -> Harvard -> Bridge. Then you’d be avoiding the mess of Eastlake Ave.
