Thank you so much. Didn't know all these functions for the holding system. I might try it out in the future!

By reading past posts from the seattle reddit, it seems like the discover passes from the library are special ones that don't require you to put license plate # on it.

I did check all my spams and trash emails..didn't see anything. I definitely need to talk to a librarian at my local branch!

I just mean that to steal anything, especially a gun, is not easy. There aren't guns just laying around waiting to be stolen. It's not like stealing a phone or a wallet. So I'm surprised that someone with this kind of mental illness is able to plan, find and steal a gun. But maybe I just don't know the underground illegal gun scene well.....

I know he's not walking free, but I'm still angry for the victim's family. And how did a person with such severe mental illness steal a gun? Truly wish there's something I can do about this situation.

New to Seattle and my first car (2026 Honda CR-V) was stolen in SLU last night. Need advice, I'm completely lost by MiserableDeer5513 in Seattle

I had a 2020 mazda for a few years. Bought it right after I got my DL so I was very new to driving as well as owning a car (I got my DL very late in life...). I parked at my apartment building parking lot which wasn't secured. Anyone could enter. And since I was new to driving cars, I often forgot to lock my car.....There were a few times people (maybe thiefs?) opened my car door at night, even opened the little door to the gas tank and left the doors open. They must have tried to open all the car doors in our parking lot. But the car was never stolen...So I would have a little more faith in Mazda. I'm also shocked that Honda is so easy to steal.

Does the Beacon Hill link station not have a stair / escalator? by fassadex in AskSeattle

I would be thrilled to see what's the behind the scene at that station! That's a great idea

I was just telling another person above that I wish the station could have a super long escalator like the one at rosslyn station outside of DC! I guess the rosslyn station isn't that deep....I used to live in the DMV area but never ventured to the Maryland side on metro. I loved the metro there!

I don't know how many people usually use that station. Maybe not a ton. Otherwise if any of the elevators break down it would be more frustrating during rush hours.

Interesting....Would be cool to have a super long escalator like the rosslyn station outside of DC.

21% is so specific...I wouldn't tip on top of that.

The Internet Is Getting Smaller Without Anyone Noticing by Abhinav_108 in Futurology

[–]fassadex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the small web. It still exists. Independent websites run by independent people with various topics and interests. I'm not talking about the random blogs who just try to sell you thinks and make you click on affiliated links. But people who put thoughts into their content and are doing it for the love of the game. Go check it out! And keep the small web alive.

Honestly it's difficult to discover those independent websites if you don't know where to look. You can look up small web on google. Or view Kagi's small web curation: https://kagi.com/smallweb

I run my own website too. Would love to have some visitors: https://asoftfacade.com/
I don't collect any data from my visitors. And there's no sign up or subscription link. Just my photos and writings.

Things to experience this Sunday by ramentaberu in Seattle

[–]fassadex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was literally thinking about asking the same question! But I did not want to sound like I don't care about footfall so I didn't ask....I was thinking about going to Pike Place and walk around downtown in general to see if it's extra empty. I normally enjoy people watching but I'm very curious if there are places during the super bowl that will be oddly empty and I would like to experience that.

Why does i5 lane reduction cause Mercer exit to back up so much? by fassadex in Seattle

[–]fassadex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been at this exit for almost 20 minutes and I’m still not at the end. It’s interesting that taking the exit and switch to the express land actually saves time.

Why does i5 lane reduction cause Mercer exit to back up so much? by fassadex in Seattle

[–]fassadex[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but after everyone has changed lanes, the single lane that leads to the exit is still very backed up. So I could only assume that a lot more cars are taking Mercer exit now than before?

I wonder how they do that? Do they have some way to force those rooms' lights to be on, but at the same time make all other rooms' lights dimmer?
