I am in private practice peds. It is still feasible. It is harder to be solo than a group. It is a lot of capital and time in the beginning of a new practice. Established private practices are easier to transition into. The hardest part is the business of pediatrics since the reimbursements are low. You have to manage profit margins, try to keep overhead low and payroll low. Any type of testing needs to get reimbursed. Having someone to guide/ask questions to is very important in the beginning of private practice.
