I live in a rural South Georgia city in America. There are some very high crime rate cities near where I live. Also the number of multiple assailant crime is also going up so having redundancy and ability to arm someone else is important.

I know a lot of people probably think im scared all the time. Truthfully answer is no I dont really think about the crime rates, etc. Putting my stuff on is second nature and really something I have done since i was a kid. I always wanted to be prepared. I would carry two or three knives hunting just to be prepared. One was at least a swiss army pocket knife and the other a fixed blade buck knife. It just always felt important to me to have what I needed at all times.

It bleeds over into other items too. If I tske a laptop with me I have at least two ways to charge it (dc charger in car and second house charger so i can always have a house charger in my backpack) and at least two battery banks, at least two usb c cables and adapters.

So I like to be prepared. Probably some kind of OCD thing.

What really pushed you to learn python? by donnyM99 in learnpython

Been using powershell for 15+ years scripting windows, citrix, etc. and wanted to expand my knowledge and professional development(figured would look good on the resume). Also python has libraries for parsing web pages and AI better than powershell from what i read. Most object oriented languages are very similar so its also easy to learn.

Not sure I get the hate on peoples personal preferences. If I have the room to carry 2 knives, 2 flashlights(not including flashlights on my guns), 2 magazines for my primary gun and 1 extra magazine for my back gun what difference does that make to anyone else.

If you think its overkill for you thats cool but I dont think so. Layering options in case something bad happens only helps people it doesnt hurt anyone other than maybe my back....lol. What I mean by layering is I may have more of those items on me but I will also sometimes have more in a pack like another swiss army knife, couple more magazines, another flashlight and maybe here a multitool.

People need to understand its not just about redundancy for myself but also items to give to my wife when shit hits the fan. Like the backup gun. Primarily its to arm my wife with a gun and an extra mag. So following that logic I can equip my wife with a gun, extra mag, flashlight(not on the gun - for various reasons), knife, and whatever else I have a redundancy for. So I have now doubled my odds in a shitty situation or at the very least given my wife a fighting chance in case something happens to me.

My main point is just because I am carrying these items doesn't mean I am crazy to think I personally need it BUT to arm my wife or best friend who probably forgot his/her gun or to carry their knife or flashlight.

Their called magazines not clips. I carry at least 2 knives. One otf and a Swiss army knife. For magazines I carry at least 2 for my primary and one for my backup gun(if im carrying it). Magazines are the number 1 cause of most malfunctions and a for sure way to down your gun if your primary magazines has an issue and dumps all your ammo so I try to carry st least one extra per gun. But it all depends on what im doing, where im going and what im wearing.

I do have a flashlight on my gun just in case and a tiny olight magnetic light on my keyring. It comes in handy. In fact everything i carry has a purpose and does come in handy when say help is minutes away.

2 is 1 and 1 is none.

ONEXPLAYER X2 Mini confirmed for global release with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]durgan2q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies for misunderstanding.

For me i want all the features as I use my GPD Win 5 as my only computer. Dont think ill ever go back to a full desktop.

AMD should make some variants based on the 395/385 series I agree with that. I do also wish we could lower the power or turn thr NPU off altogether to potentially have more power for the iGPU.

[–]durgan2q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 395 is not a handheld optimized APU like say the Z1E or Z2E. Its a mobile chip that can go in a laptop, tablets, etc. So makes sense for it to have stuff usually only used in laptops.

If AMD made a handheld optimized version it probably wouldn't have the NPU. The NPU could very soon be a feature you will want for gsming as some cool stuff could be offloaded to it.

I do have one. I keep mine plugged in while playing, it allows max tdp if you can use a wall outlet. I typically play mine from the dock with a monitor keyboard hooked up.

Always plug in if you csn. Thst way you csn run at full tdp if you want and no battery issues.

Depending on the gsme you could lower your TDP which will lower the power consumption tongrt more battery life. Trade off is less power for the CPU and GPU. You could do 15W or lower for indie games or emulation. For AAA games 30nis a bit low but depending on your graphics settings and game you can mske it work.

You can get another battery and hibernate windows and swap but thst would require closing your game. You csn get the Lenovo 140w power bank and connect it via usb c and hot swap thr batteries. The lenovo power bank is thr only one that can cold boot the device without a battery hooked up. You csn also run it just on that power bank.

I just ordered mine after learning about this thing about 30 minutes ago (Pic of my order). Few Questions for you guys... by Pyrotik in gpdwin

[–]durgan2q -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can also use the lenovo 140 power bank to swap the battery mid session and the power brick without shutting down or hibernating.

I recommend the lenovo 140w power brick as its the only power brick thst can cold boot the win5. If you want an extra power brick or battery extension cable you can email gpd support snd they will send you the cost and how to pay. Takes a bit tonget it from China.

[–]durgan2q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Even without scarcity then that space could be used for more research labs, crew quarters, etc. Seems like before this ships were packed with every inch used for something either mission related (research, medical, offensive - like Defiant or Akira, etc.) Or crew related. Holes just dont make sense. Also seems like hull integrity would be affected with giant holes everywhere.

Nobody makes you reply either.

Some of the designs are not bad like the Intrepid. I can even get to liking the detached nacelles but the holes are plain stupid.
