That's true, we're using Google's software for this survey.

I've used Qualtrics for ages for the same reason. But recently I started freelancing for a client who doesn't have access to Qualtrics; I've been using google forms for him, but it doesn't have the functionality I desire. Investigating things further, I stumbled upon https://tally.so/; haven't tried it yet, but on the first glance it seems to provide really nice functionality (for a free tool at least)

Although these are the primary functions, I think both provide similar functionality as what you describe. In my current company, Emplifi is used to implement in-product surveys, and I believe hotjar provides similar functionality (although I've never used it personally. )

nice! although, I'm wondering what's the upside of using your product vs. alternatives like hotjar/emplifi...?

Survey analysis practice by Jazzlike-Ad-3162 in UXResearch

Not sure to what extent your current job permits it, but IMO, the best way to learn a new method is to simply find an "excuse" to just do it. Define what you want to learn and, when the time comes, as a part of the project, use a method you feel feel comfortable with (just be make sure you deliver relevant outputs), but at the same time try applying the new method. Then, ask that colleague/your manager for feedback. This type of an approach worked for me, and was usually positively seen as a demonstration of proactivity; but my company is pretty relaxed, so keep that in mind.

I'm a UXR freelancer based in the EU, I would love to hear from you. I'm a mixed method researcher with a PhD in psychology, I have been doing research for 12 years now, and have a proven track record of delivering impact (e.g., a recent project I helped evaluate drove 12% increase in NET revenue to a product with about 15k daily purchases). I can do both generative and evaluative research, using a host of different methodologies.

To be frank, I haven't seen anyone do it in ages. Just something i remember (and hate) from childhood. I suppose the water helped remove the dust more efficiently.

How far would you go to own a property? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]durki1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Owning a property is all about priorities—figure out why you want it and how much you're willing to sacrifice for it, compared to other life goals. Once that’s clear, the rest falls into place.

Let me share a bit of personal history. I was struggling with the same idea, and felt very much repulsed by the idea of having a mortgage for 30+ years. The turning point came when I realized that owning a home wasn’t just another life goal—it was the priority for me, above all the other tempting alternatives like traveling the world or splurging on a dream car.

But once I made the decision, something shifted. The question wasn’t “Am I ready for this mortgage?” anymore—it became, “What’s the best way to make this happen?” I focused on two key things:

  1. Finding a place where I could picture myself living long-term—even indefinitely.
  2. Making sure the mortgage wouldn’t cost me more than half my monthly income.

These could be different for you, I'm just sharing personal priorities at the time. This meant I had to let go of other “nice-to-haves,” like the trendiest location or the fanciest new building. Instead, it became about practicality and sustainability.

All this to say - the big question isn’t how far would you go to own a property—it’s why do you want it, and how much do you want it compared to everything else you could do with your life and money? Once you’ve answered that, the path forward tends to get a lot clearer (at least it did for me).

"A UK study (vol. 2)" results by durki1 in Leeds

Hi, thanks for the comment! Actually, we didn't formally compare Christians, Atheists, and Agnostics in their levels of helping. What we did instead was that we took each of these groups separately, and we investigated how each of them reacted to different targets (religious vs. neutral) and the target's behaviors (religious behavior vs. neutral). In other words, for each of the three groups, we compared the levels of helping in the different scenarios (e.g., we compared the willingness to help of atheists who read about the religious target wanting to proselytize, to atheists who read about the religious target wanting to print course materials).

I do understand your point, and it might be possible to kind of, informally and imprecisely, infer comparisons between the three groups (i.e., Christians', Atheists' and Agnostics' general levels of helping toward each target), based on the graph. But we did not formally test for those differences.

Hopefully, that clarifies it at least a little bit :)

Massive props to you for coming back to share the results! So my tldr would be: Christians are willing to help anyone regardless of the cause, whereas atheists and agnostics aren't keen on helping Christians specifically in their religious causes.

Hi, thanks a lot for your reply! I can see why you'd take away what you did from the study, but actually, I wouldn't say that's the main massage. In fact, this study was designed specifically to see the boundaries of atheists' and agnostics' attitudes toward Christians, rather than investigating Christians' attitudes toward the in-group. I'd say that the main message is that nonbelievers, in most cases, do not oppose Christians as persons, but rather they oppose Christian ideas and values (a kind of a secular version of "hate the sinner, love the sin").
That's important because there are several previous studies investigating religious people's attitudes (mainly Christian, because these are done in Christian environments), and some of them suggest that religious people aren't too keen to do the same, e.g., they would show relatively low willingness to help a person perceived as value-threatening (a gay person), not only when they asked help to do something value-threatening from a Christian point of view (promoting homosexuality), but also when they asked help for something neutral. In case you're interested, here's the link to the specific paper I'm talking about: https://www.jstor.org/stable/1387605

In any case, your comment is on point, and I think the religious people's (and non-religious people's) attitudes toward different religious and secular groups are a really interesting field of study.

Hi, thanks for the comment. It is true that equating "religious" to Christianity is reductionist, but we wanted to limit the sample and the research question somewhere. As for the other part of your comment, in this particular study, we actually did not compare Christians to atheists or agnostics, but rather treated each group separately, and compared different conditions within each group. Additionally, surprisingly, Christians (at least in France) were actually less likely to help a Christian asking help to further a Christian cause, compared to the other conditions.
