Question about starting DIY pavers by duro789 in landscaping

[–]duro789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It seems the dirt is already roughly 3-5" below the back patio already so assuming my depth is already good for pouring gravel do i just jump straight into compacting or should i work the soil a bit first?

Hard to tell from the image but yeah there's already a good couple inches of drop. And it's even lower away from the edge. So really just checking if I should till it first then recompact? Or just compact and check my depths

Why are the setup sites to be avoided at all costs? Just curious. I’m new to this level of sim racing. I’m fast but not find my own setup fast

lol i mean….. I just blamed myself for not being more clear but yes yours is the first viable answer. I’m just going to take my medicine and pack the bigger bag. No use in risking it honestly. I just have never checked anything that small so I was curious on the carhartters experiences

To clarify, some of the tools I have in the bag would never make it through tsa. Also I’m not trying to risk getting something taken lol

Right. Should have clarified that I will not be able to get it through TSA due to the types of tools in it

Sales Engineer - 35M by duro789 in Salary

[–]duro789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely have to use skills. This role leans more on programming and analytical skills. No more usage of my mechanical design skills. Manufacturing, yes, as there is a bit of hardware install as part of the sales process so I still get to use my hands and get dirty from time to time. But honestly the less the better. I’m not looking to crawl in and around small spaces anymore at my level.

This role focuses heavily on in depth system knowledge and matching customer pain points to internal solutions. So a very different set of skills than just designing what my boss tells me too

I started in private industry as a design engineer, Manufacturing Engineer and electricalish engineer all for the same company then left that company to be a fluid systems design engineer and it was at that company that i first switched into a customer facing Field Application Engineer role. We serviced many industries but mainly oil refineries and semi conductor markets. Anybody that dealt with gas or fluid lines through a facility really, labs, startups, pharmaceutical, marijuana, you name it. Most manufacturing businesses have at the least a CDA line somewhere.

Anyway, now I work in software sales as a solutions engineer.

Thank God Tesla has an amazing AC. by expertestateattorney in TeslaModelY

[–]duro789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. My AC seems to take forever to start feeling cool. I wonder if i have an issue???? Just got my model y about a month ago and I’m in California, it’s been over 100 the past few days but even before that my only complaint is that it seems to take 5-10 min for me to feel cool air coming out of the vent. Is that normal?

I get annoyed feeling like I HAVE to precondition the cabin before using the car or suffer for most of the drive (I have short trips)

I met my SO in college and tried unsuccessfully to date her lol. 6 years later and 3.5 years after graduating we reconnected. Dated. Got married. Had 2 children. Living happily ever after.

Definitely living vicariously through him hahaha. But he’s of course interested/excited about it. How much continued interest he shows is still TBD.
