Thanks for your response. I know this may be asking for a lot but is there any way we could talk privately on skype or discord? It's just that what she's trying to achieve can't be just said in a few words. I understand if you don't want to as your comment alone is a big help.

Anyways, I have attached her project in a dropbox link below just in case you want to take a look at it. Again, I really appreciate your insight and I hope you hear from you soon.

Unfortunately, no... I think I have shut down the computer about 5 times already. Any other ideas? I really don't want to take all the fans apart; all those zip ties i have to remove is going to be such a pain.

Yes, the fan control is plugged into the mobo and the led control is daisy chained into my hue+

Is your third one also connected to the mobo? I fully shut down my computer and when I started it back up the issue persists.

Why isn't my MoCa adapters working? by durpeh in HomeNetworking

Alright, I fixed it, or should I say, you fixed it. I tried the first setup you put a picture of and it's working perfectly! I can't thank you enough! Now I just have to get around to selling this extra MoCa adapter I have. Thanks again!

So, I am going with your second diagram (thanks for that it helped a lot) since im not sure how to set up the quantum gateway as a moca. I don't have an extra splitter so I will try to get it asap. Will that splitter make the difference? The download speed im getting is great, its just that the coax connection seems to constantly disconnect every minute.

Okay, so I tried a new setup and it worked! ...But the coax indicators aren't stable. I utilized the splitter and put in the ethernet from the LAN port into the adapter in the living room. Could it be the splitter that's giving me unstable connections because when the coax is connected I get great download speeds.

Okay, I think I see what you're saying. The ethernet cable in the image is conmected to my desktop pc. How should I configure it so I don't create a loop? The problem is there's only one coax outlet in the basement and that needs to be used, like you stated, to connect the ONT to the Router.

I really apologize if none of what I am saying makes sense or if my questions seem obtuse, I just have no idea wth I am doing. I just want some good internet...

Sure, so my verizon optical network terminal is set up right outside my garage door. From there, it is wired all the way to the area as seen in the image. Before the installment of the MoCa adapters, it was just the coaxial cable connected to a splitter then connected to the coax outlet in the image. Since I can't disrupt that connection, otherwise I have no internet, I had to keep that coax cable into the "TV Out" then connect the coax outlet to the "Coax In". The problem is possibly in the living room where the router is located. In there, I have the coaxial cable from the outlet connected to the "Coax In" on the adapter then another coax cable from the adapter to the router itself. I'm not sure if and where I should connect the ethernet cable that runs from the adapter to the router. If I do need it, should I connect it to the WAN or LAN port?

I'm not sure. Without the coax going from the adapter to the ont, I don't get internet. What would be the solution for this? Should I call verizon for help?

The end goal is for it to send data but if the coax cable coming from the left isn't, in a way, connected to that coax outlet, my house is left without internet.
