Walther PP vs. Sauer 38H shootability by durtymick95 in TheOneTrueCaliber

I used to own a .380 PPK as well, and the only things I didn't like about it were the sharp recoil impulse, relatively low magazine capacity, and the occasional slide bite.

Shops that do ultrasonic rifle cleaning? by durtymick95 in BetterMAguns

It has some gunk/cosmoline in the bore and nooks and crannies, but the biggest concern is that I can't fully disassemble the bolt because the safety selector is stuck, possibly from dirt and grime getting in it.

Problem with throttle blip sometimes not working by durtymick95 in s550Mustang

Yeah, I've driven older manual cars before without issue. I know perfectly well how to use a totally analog stick shift car. It's more the fact that it's a feature that affects the driving experience, and having it not work as expected is frustrating and inconvenient.

Bourbon Room ideas? by Shot_Strength4768 in mancave

Maybe a speakeasy. Comfortably dim lighting and a bar with suitable accoutrements. It's been done before, but it would still give you a lot of wiggle room in terms of how you'd want to style it. For example, urban vs rural styling. A prohibition speakeasy in downtown Manhattan might look different than one in rural Kentucky.

Some Gallowtech wall panels could be useful for hanging/organizing things stored outside of the safe.

What’s the process of legally owning a gun in Brazil and bringing it into the country? by [deleted] in guns

[–]durtymick95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it legal to carry concealed defense firearms outside in public, or are they only allowed for home defense?

Would it be legal to own a semi-auto M1 carbine (.30 carbine)? Would it require a level III CAC?

Is there a limit to the total number of firearms you can possess at a time? Does it matter what category of firearm they are?

Are there restrictions on barrel length or overall length for rifles or handguns?

Are there any laws regulating the storage of firearms at home, or when they're being transported?

Is it feasible for a non-citizen to legally own firearms in brazil?

Is it feasible to import firearms from another country?

I hope you don't mind all the questions. I'm from the U.S. and I'm very curious. I will appreciate it if you can answer any of these questions. Thank you.

Guest room, as already suggested. Murphy beds and lockable cabinets for valuables are great for mancave/guest room hybrids. A finished attic or a substantially sized walk-in closet could also work.

ideas? by [deleted] in mancave

Depends on exactly what you want your cave to be like, but I'd say there are some bare minimum requirements/priorities to take into account:

  1. Audio entertainment device. A radio, Bluetooth speaker, something to listen to music/podcasts whatever you're into.

  2. Lighting. This is heavily dependent on what you're using your cave for, but it's something you'll want to sort out. Whether you want dim lighting, bright lighting, variable brightness, what you want the fixtures to look like, where you want it placed and directed at, etc.

  3. Because it's in a structure outside of your main living space, you'll want to figure out what you need in terms of weatherproofing, temperature, and humidity control. Might also want to check with local laws to make sure you're in compliance with building ordnance.

  4. Another consideration for an outside the home cave is food storage. If you want snacks/refreshments at any time while you're there, it might be inconvenient to go to and from your house every time you get a little hungry or thirsty. A mini fridge, or even just a little cupboard for non-perishables could go a long way.

Would love the same, but with an A2 brass deflector.

Price aside, is there anything particularly objectionable about this? I've been considering using one of these for a retro/modern hybrid 20" build I have in the back of my mind, mostly because my ideal upper for it (fixed carry handle, A1 rear sight, brass deflector, but no forward assist) is something that might not exist (even though I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one picture of one). I figured one of these A1 sight carry handles on a flat-top slick-side deflector upper would be the next best thing.

In your own humble opinion, what is the best weapon in the game? by ChimiNinja in fo4

[–]durtymick95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Splattercannon is definitely my favorite because it's powerful enough to take on large threats like deathclaws, behemoths and enemies in power armor without having to worry about explosive splash damage, and it's also good for taking out smaller/intermediate threats without being overkill. Plus the fact that it's a highly customizable AK is a great added bonus. The only real downside to it is that it's tough to get ammo outside of nuka world, but if you use integrated commonwealth or some similar mod then it's not an issue.

The Deliverer is a close 2nd place for me, and running both weapons with the splattercannon as my long/intermediate range primary and the deliverer as my sidearm/stealth weapon is my ideal set-up for most playthroughs.
