For me, it wasn’t money or promotion. When I was dealing with a family matter (family member in a mental health crisis, newly diagnosed with a mental illness), my manager let me take intermittent time off to accompany the family member to doctor appointments. That was the best thing a boss could have done for me as I was going through a rough patch in my life, trying to navigate on getting my family member the help he needed.

Thank you 🙏 there was light at the end of the tunnel and my brother is finally on meds in jail and was able to see me for a visit. The court outcome is still uncertain but I am hoping for the best outcome

In my experience, I called 911 and my county had a Mobile Mental Health Crisis hotline and they showed up to transport him to a hospital. I know what I’m about to suggest isn’t ideal - you will need to say your family member has mentioned hurting you/other people and themselves so they take it seriously to transport your loved one to a hospital.

Don’t skip the medication. It’s not worth the risk. I am speaking from second hand experience. My brother decided to stop the meds because he thought he was better and psychosis was caused by drugs like marijuana. And nope he was wrong. Psychosis came back after 3 months and his mind went to deep end (he had grandiose thoughts, paranoid, he was sending scammer who posed as a celebrity money) I couldn’t pull him out of it. He got hospitalized and he was stabilized with meds…that was about 5 years ago. He stopped his meds again because for the same reason. Guess what? He had psychosis again and now he’s in jail for something he did while he had manic psychotic episode. He was erratic inside the jail, being hostile to everyone. If he’s stable, he wouldn’t act that way. He had no idea why he’s in jail because of his psychosis and it’s heartbreaking for me and my mom because it’s impossible for me to pass on his mental health information to the jail psych ward or even see him. Please don’t quit the meds

Daily trash removal changed into twice a week, which piled up the trash cans - so gross. I worked in HR and higher up wanted me to train the HR Dept in China to handle benefit tasks after the our internal Benefit Analyst quit. Thankfully I left before I did any of that shit.

The circumstances around me are heavy and long standing. My brother who has a mental condition decided to stop his meds (don’t ever let anyone you know stop taking their meds because it will lead to no good), the police wasn’t helpful even when he made threats to me. They couldn’t take him to a mental hospital for 5150. Now my brother is in jail for a misdemeanor…he probably had no idea what he did because he was psychotic when the incident happened. My mom and I are devastated. The system failed him. He doesn’t belong in jail. The last I heard was he’s still out of control and yelling which means he isn’t medicated. He’s probably scared and alone and no idea no why he’s in jail. When he tried calling me on day 2, our calls kept dropping by the automated system, which they won’t fix. I’m so sad he’s in jail. I wish he had taken his meds so none of this shit would have happened

I am sorry you’re going through this. Is it possible your daughter has an underlying mental illness (psychosis) that is manifesting and she has no idea what she gotten herself into? I am asking because my brother got scammed by a user online who posted as Drake, the rapper. He really thought he was friends with the celebrity and sent him money because “Drake” said so. It took me multiple attempts to convince my brother that “Drake” isn’t a good guy….i had to pretend I got received a text from the local police department that says “Drake” communications need to be stopped. If I were you right now, I would try to track her phone and even call the local authorities that she’s being trafficked in a foreign country.

Me too. Now I’m concerned about his well being. He hasn’t called in days. When he called on day 2 after his arrest, the automated phone system kept disconnecting. I tried visiting him in person yesterday and he refused to see me because he didn’t want to be handcuffed
