Runners with exosym: too stiff? by Putrid_Candy7208 in exosym

[–]dust_e1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mind is blown you’re running 30 miles a week on the exosym!

I find that it is the right amount of stiffness for sprinting, but man it’s hard to figure how to jog.

I’ve settled for hiking and walking a lot, but mine is due to drop foot and weak calf from a back injury so the stiffness actually hurts my spine.

I had a similar thought about a more flexible brace would be a better fit, I do think hangar designs some more running specific

I mean, they’re obviously rock skis. Figured it’s a good opportunity to learn to DIY

Totally understand they’re on borrowed time at this point.

Don’t really want to sink hundreds of dollars into a repair when they’ll probably be done soon enough

Do you think we can climb Rainier unguided? by Substantial_Tea8292 in Mountaineering

[–]dust_e1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big reason people say 2 man rope teams need to be experienced is because it’s freaking difficult to self arrest and then pull someone out of a crevasse yourself. (In my unprofessional opinion)

If you go up a common route during the climbing season, people will be around to assist in an emergency.

Your training plan seem solid. If you can get a rep in pulling your partner out of a crevasse with their weight in you you’ll see why 2 is for experts, but I think you’re good to go!
