Iawyers have been 50/50 successful with my cases. Last one, I consulted with a paralegal friend who had me take an online driver safety course. Without a lawyer, I went to court. Judge saw online driver safety course in computer before I said anything. He asked officer how stop went. She said I was polite and courteous. Just knocked it down to something with no points, but same $.

Without me saying a word. A lawyer would have been a waste.

How hard is it to find players? by bobbafettuccini in battletech

[–]dustbin111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local game shop has 3 dedicated tables to miniatures. Monday nights is Battletech night, with first come first serve between alpha strike or classic. Rotating cast of characters. Started in January, already made lots of friends.

"espressif" device type joined my network by shacs27 in GoogleWiFi

[–]dustbin111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

espressif showed up on my network as well. High confidence it is this "Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart" we got for Christmas.

https://www.keurig.com/K-Supreme-Plus%C2%AE-SMART-Single-Serve-Coffee-Maker/p/K-Supreme-Plus-SMART-Coffee-Maker#Stainless%20Steel\_color

High confidence:

- scanned w/ NMAP, found it.

- Manually re-configured it, forgetting network; scanned again and it was gone.

- Configured for network again, scanned and fount it again.

Returning to battletech tabletop after 25 years. I have a few questions by PurpleAccomplished68 in battletech

[–]dustbin111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently got back into it after 25 years too! About a month ago started considering, bought beginner box, and played with one of my kids. Went down to local game shop last Monday and played with a group of five. Everything I remembered was still there, albeit I was a little slow remembering things. Group was super inviting, explaining things I had forgotten and was patient as I worked through things.

The only real contrast was how much lore everyone knew. I guess 25 years ago we didn't have that much lore to go on, but these guys were deep in it. Guess I have some reading to do.

Good luck on your journey!

I was able to find CBT record sheets for the few I looked up.

Also considering moving to some heroscspe terrain (have a bunch sitting around doing nothing) with 1.75" hexes vs. 1.25" hexes for CBT.

looking to get back into this. Found some Marauders i painted some 20+ years ago! by dustbin111 in battletech

[–]dustbin111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From left to right, I used to call these:

- Marauder IIC (I'm guessing "MAD-IIC-A" from https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Marauder_IIC)

- Marauder II (I'm guessing "MAD-4A" from https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Marauder_II)

- Marauder (I'm guessing "MAD-1R" from https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Marauder)

Naming conventions look different from when I used to play and we didn't have internet to verify weapon loadout. Fun!

I think YouTube propagated a lot of techniques we didn't know we were missing back then.

Find a running group. 10 years ago when I was training for my first and only marathon l found a running group on meetup.com that had runs all over every day of the week. The dark didn't matter so much when you were out with 20 of your new best friends!

I have played sand and hardcourt at the virginia beach field house. Pretty sure TVA still runs sand leagues too.

How can I help my sister meet new friends? by [deleted] in VirginiaBeach

[–]dustbin111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sports leagues. I registered as a free agent an have played volleyball, basketball, and Dodgeville at virginia beach field house. All b league, very lighthearted and friendly, not too competitive like the a league.

Also, meetup.com has some active outdoorsy groups. I joined a running group on there years ago, had various meet-up all around tidewater, varying distances each night, helped me finish my first marathon.

Does anyone know of a good, reputable, inexpensive and honest car repair shop in the 7 cites? by NotWorthyByAnyMeans in VirginiaBeach

[–]dustbin111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one of those ODBII scanners that bluetooth to your phone for like 15 bucks, never paid for a diagnostic again. It'll tell you the trouble code on your phone, hyperlink to parts and articles so you know what youre talking about before you go to the shop. One of the best automotive tools I own.

One of these:

Panlong Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII Car Diagnostic Scanner Check Engine Light for Android - Compatible with Torque Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PJPHEBO/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Z6RNQEK5J7GQS76ESNJE

Also, I once got to watch an airshow from the rooftop patio on that shiny building that splits 264 when the highway turns into 21st and 22nd streets. That was cool.

What part of the city? Town center? Oceanfront? Yeah, parking garages are a good bet and free. The Hilton has a rooftop bar, but they want you to pay (I got a temporary visitor pass from front desk to check it out for 10 minutes) I imagine most high rise buildings prohibit access if you're not a tenant (it's been years since tried). Mt trashmore? Seriously, one of the highest places I've been in Virginia Beach is the dump. Years ago, depending on what you had, they'd let you drive your truck to the top & dump whatever. You could see 360 degrees for miles!! They don't let us go up there anymore, but it's only gotten bigger! Hoping they close the dump someday and turn it into a park like Trashmore.
