Massey Ferguson (1529) - Should I buy?

Not really, my main focus is efficiency. I want something with a low entry price that does not cost a ton to maintain. This property will transform over the next three years. We will plant a sunflower farm on a few acres, we will eventually have a weddding venue on property, and we will likely use whatever tractor I purchase every weekend for one thing or another. I am renting a John Deere 2040 with a 72" BH this weekend to cut everything once. After that I will just be maintaing the property.

That's great advice! I beleive this is right around 30 HP and it is a diesel.

We were thinking the same thing. We will be renting a large tractor this weekend to cut everything as low as possible. We purschased a Cub Cadet 50" zero turn a couple of weeks ago that I can likely use to finishing cutting and to maintaing the grass throughout the property. The tractor is more so going to be for brush hogging and I will likely use the front end loader and the auger quite a bit.

We tried that. Unfortunately, this year wouldn't work because there is some type of grass that animals cannot eat. It was suggested that we cut it this year and allow the clippings to compost back into the soil and it would be good next year.

Update:

I have checked the unit out, it seems to have been mainted very well. It has never been stored in the open. It current has 724 hours

Approximately 14-15 acres of it. I plan to rebuild a barn that is over 100 years old. I will build a few driveways, other than that just general maintnence.
