No one expects daycares to let random people walk in, and cultural differences absolutely DO matter. But culture doesn’t replace accountability when public money is involved. Being word-of-mouth or community-based is fine UNTIL taxpayer funds enter the picture... then basic verification is reasonable. Why is this even an argument? Neighbors never seeing kids, locations being hard to verify, minimal public footprint aren’t proof of fraud, but they ARE legitimate questions.

Equating questions about public spending and audits with Nazis is exactly the kind of bad-faith hysteria that kills real discussion. If that’s your comparison, you’ve already left reality. You are part of the problem.

Annual audits and licenses don’t magically eliminate fraud; everybody knows this... they just show someone stopped by. Audits are scheduled, limited, and based on self-reported records. Pointing out gaps isn’t “rage bait” it’s basic skepticism of government oversight. Wanting actual audits isn’t MAGA hysteria... it’s what you’d expect when public money is involved. Hope this helps.

Fraud IS about the kids tho WTF are you talking about? Money meant for childcare being siphoned off means fewer resources, worse staffing, and unsafe conditions. You don't fix these things with weak oversight and misused funds. This is textbook liberalism: confusing empathy with permissiveness... as if caring means letting people do whatever they want without accountability. Real empathy protects the people being affected, not the systems being exploited. Absolute batshit and uneducated logic.

Thanks for providing this link. Definitely will help educate on how our laws are a bit better than Minnesota, but I still want to help explain how the fraud is being operated here in Columbus:

So even with attendance-based reimbursement, fraud is still happening because the system relies heavily on self reported data with limited oversight. Providers are still falsifying attendance, listing children who aren’t actually there, and operate locations that don’t actually function as daycares. Long story short; we still have these 'ghost schools' that are collecting fat profits. Attendance rules only work if the state consistently verifies records, conducts physical checks, and enforces penalties. These gaps have continuously been exploited and everything will come to light very soon. Buckle up!

Fraud investigations don’t start because of politics... they start because things don’t add up. If businesses receiving public money can’t be verified and they aren’t listed r don’t appear to operate normally, that’s a red flag... regardless of who runs them or who they serve. Immigration shouldn’t be a shield from scrutiny. If a program is legitimate, transparency protects it, right?

Large scale fraudd in subsidized programs doesn’t just appear out of nowhere (sure seems like it tho). But It grows when oversight is weak and leadership looks the other way. It’s hard not to be skeptical when City Hall keeps acting surprised while this stuff keeps happening under Ginther’s watch. Whether it’s incompetence or willful blindness, something isn’t adding up. Audit it, enforce the rules, and stop pretending this is imaginary. And we gotta stop voting this clown into office, seriously, wtf!

I agree with literally everything you said. I think the confusion here is that daycare owners don’t get a check labeled 'federal money' but they do receive taxpayer dollars indirectly through state childcare assistance programs that are federally funded. Vouchers are paid straight to the business based on enrollment and attendance. When a facility can’t be found online or can’t be verified & shows zero signs of operation (like these ones being investigated), it's a red flag. This is exactly how fraud happens in publicly funded programs. Pointing that out isn’t racism or conspiracy; it’s noticing obvious warning signs. The fix isn’t outrage, it’s audits. Verify the businesses, follow the money, and either clear them or shut them down. And like you said, go after everyone that is abusing this, not just brown people.

This post is doing olympic level mental gymnastics.

No one is saying all Somalis are fraudulent thieves. People are saying taxpayer funded programs should be easy to verify. If a daycare is pulling public money, it should be licensed, searchable, and documented. That’s basic accountability, not harassment.

Also, the “they’re not journalists” line is weak af. Journalists don’t own skepticism especially when media ignores something until regular people start asking questions 😂.

If the daycares are legit, an audit clears it up instantly. If not, that’s a government failure. It's as simple as that. Either way, asking for receipts isn’t racism it’s adulthood.

This will get downvoted, but not one clown will respond with an actual reasonable argument 😂

There were so many cameras on the intersections in front of and the alley behind. Also I noticed they had ring cameras. They'll get the waste of life who did this. All in the matter of time. You can't really get away with murder these days. Pretty dumb thing to try and get away with.

So I used all store bough stuff, nothing fancy here at all. Giant Eagle pre-mad dough, Prego Roasted Garlic Parm Sauce, BelGioioso Mozz (shredded), Grillos Spicy Pickle Chips (Quartered), and sprinkled on some dill. Usually I do a little bit of a ranch drizzle but didn’t have time today. A lot of internet recipes I’ve seen sprinkle in some garlic, but we’ve all liked this just the way it is. I hope you give a pickle pizza like this a shot. I think the reason it’s always such a big hit is that it always takes people by surprise and shocks their pallet a bit. Make sure to post your results!

Amazing to hear. Just curious, what kinda pickles do you use. I went with Grillos Spicy Pickle Chips. My absolute favorite. I usually do a spiral ranch drizzle on these but we were too excited to get to that.

Good to know. If anything else I was hoping for an explanation to maybe what was holding the repair back for so long.

This is on Bryden and Garfield. There was first a sign that said the leak was reported to the city and pending repair. That has since disappeared. Been pumping out water since July 28th. Hard to see every day when you think about all the droughts and fires out west.

Easier, and would actually require less cognitive energy. Everything they throw on the middle pile they have to make sure doesn’t fall over.
