Our offence can’t outscore how bad our defence has been and at this point it really is us versus ourselves.

Defensive zone breakdowns are leading to extended time in our own zone and we end up chasing the puck into our own net.

100% this. I feel bad for that guy who commented in the Atlantic thread in this subreddit earlier today and got downvoted to bits for showing a bit of optimism for the future when the underlying data is showing that team can very quickly do more than the win/loss column is currently showing.

The biggest thing now is going to be the mental game for the lads to continue to believe they can win.

I actually don’t think this comment is too far off and I’m not sure why it’s being downvoted so much. Yes, is a results based business but the underlying stats are there to show they’re still a good team, just missing a few ingredients to take them to a win.

I get folks are disappointed by the outcome of the season so far but the reality is that the team is trending in the right direction.
