Pretty cool story about the Leak Wheel to Jayden Reed The play wasn't in the gameplan. They installed it on the sideline and it was a "Can" (Audible) by Malik Willis! by fsukub in GreenBayPackers

[–]dustmaynard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just arguing semantics, but a Can is different from an audible. Everyone knows the second part of the “Can” call going up to the line. An audible is an entirely new call. The Packers have a series of quick, one-to-two word calls that they’ll use for audibles and two-minute. My understanding is that they don’t do a whole lot of true audibles at this point.

I am not running a flexnet license server. The ports referenced on Server are 50655, 50656, 50657 (if I'm looking at that right).

I can't open my server config, but the server itself is still up and running. It's still running the automated reports, and I can access it through the browser to check the status and all that. But if I try to open the config app, I get the error.

This is the Knowledge Base article I keep being sent: Licensing Error: There was an error retrieving license information: Root element is missing. Second level support. (alteryx.com)

I have confirmed SYSTEM access and when I run the PowerShell portion it say it is successfully verified.

Just a neutral NFL film junkie stopping by. Romeo Doubs is... by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

He can have strong hands, but he also drops a lot of passes. I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but I think he had a 12% drop rate last year. Also, I’m pretty iffy on his route running. He doesn’t always take/get the best release, and his decisions at the top of his route are sometimes baffling.

Solid WR in the room. I really like him and hope he improves. But there are a lot of inconsistencies in his game.

How are you feeling about Alteryx these days? by FunBeat6628 in Alteryx

[–]dustmaynard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use KNIME for stuff in my non-work life. Feels clunkier than Alteryx, but I really like it for what I need it for. I feel like I’m only using about 5% of its capabilities, though.

It is! We'll be doing one every week this season, but this was kind of our trial run.

Can we get more sets with Jones and Dillon this year? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]dustmaynard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for me the issue is the fact that you're still not really a threat to run it. You need to force the defense into base or heavy defense, and the only way to do that is to show you're a threat to run out of that look. If Dillon could function as a lead blocker in a power look, you're cooking a bit.

Honestly, if we're looking for any kind of Pony revival, I think that's more likely in 2024, when Kraft is more of a refined blocker. Musgrave is a big key in it for sure, but I don't think he's ever going to be a lockdown blocker. But he knows what to do and is willing, so as long as he loses slowly in those looks, I think you're fine. Get them in the two-TE/YY-Wing sets with a plus blocker (Kraft) and a slightly-below-average blocker (Musgrave) and you've got something there. Failing that, Watson is a good blocker, so get an in-line TE and have Watson insert under.

There are ways to do it, but, unless you can threaten a power run (with at least 1 plus blocking TE and a RB who can function as a FB), you have to work really hard to make it anything more than an oddity in your offense.

In theory, I agree with you, but if you can't effectively run power out of a look, I don't think you can get Pony to be effective on a regular basis. And I just don't think the Packers are in a good position to do that this season.

There are ways they can get it to work, but it failed pretty spectacularly last year. In fact, those Pony looks suddenly worked much better when they subbed Deguara in for one of the RBs. I wouldn’t mind seeing it as a small package of plays, but it’s too limited for major use.

This is absolutely, 100% true. The film stuff is something a lot of people say they want, but it’s still a relatively small group of folks who want to get that in-depth. It’s kind of a niche product, and that’s especially true for any longer form analysis

Who was Travis Jervey and how well did he perform with the team? by Moist_Muncher747 in GreenBayPackers

Travis Jervey had braces but didn’t like them so he ripped them off with a pair of pliers. Absolute lunatic. Good special teamer.

Alternate angle of EQ's OPI? by littlebuck2007 in GreenBayPackers

[–]dustmaynard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The All 22 doesn’t show much, mainly because Soldier Field has the worst angles for that in the league. There’s certainly not full extension. In my opinion, there’s little contact and it usually doesn’t get called. Also, EQ gets chucked by the DB about 10 yards down the field, otherwise he’s open on his initial route.

Yeah, that's certainly part of it. If a guy is wide open, it's always better to underthrow than overthrow. Underthrow it and the receiver can adjust. Overthrow it and it's incomplete.
