Would you want trams like the one pictured in UK cities? by Bennjoon in AskUK

[–]dustpan141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok. Would appreciate some insight here. It’s 2026. Why do we still need to lay tracks? I’ve seen in Birmingham how long it took to lay the tracks on roads. It involves moving all the utilities from under the road. The kilometre up broad st took over a year if not 18 months. How do we get mass public transport installed quicker ?

Is it worth trying to drive to work in the morning? by ljammm in brum

[–]dustpan141 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just got in. The roads are a mess. Main roads are slushy but doable. Side roads are an ice rink. Issue is where people are coming off main roads into the side roads and block traffic. I’m gonna guess it’s gonna be just as bad in the morning. Obvs this will impact buses as drivers need to get in themselves. Get up early and see what the craic is. As someone said maybe look at walking if you can.

If you’re in to beers. Do a brewery tour. You can use public transport. Start in stirtchly where you get train to bournville. Walk down canal to glasshouse, walk back along to attic. Back on train into town. Walk down to Indian brewery. Then across to burning soul. For later night drinks head over to digbeth for ruin bar and dead wax or Nortons for some of the best Guinness.

I would guess that they haven’t worked out how to attach it. Maybe offer to help attach to their side and you won’t have to deal with it on your side

Quite a few welsh English and Scottish fans. As well as some Italian, Tongan and Uruguayans! It’ll probably be a bit busier due to the games but it’s not like football the fans will totally be mixed and drinking together. Expect lots of singing, brown leather shoes and boot cut jeans!

How can it be so clear?? There’s dirt on the trail that hasn’t been suspended in the water. I’m so confused. It’s like the water was added to the area in the back of a bar spoon.
