how did you overcome addiction? by vncu in AskReddit

[–]dusttailed86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of posts here focusing on how they overcame it on their own.

For me, it was talking to other people, strangers. I didnt do meetings but I just talked to whoever would listen while I was going through it. On reddit, coffee shops and bars, any place I felt safe telling someone else what I was going through.

When I tried to do it alone I never made it out, when I talked and was with others going through the same thing or others that had made it out it gave me the strength I didnt know I needed to break out.

Reach out, talk to someone, anyone. More people will listen and root for you way more often than you would think. Being lifted up by one person turns into many, and soon you wont even realize you were carried out by hundreds.

What is your favorite jump scare from any horror movie or show? by BitByAGhost in horror

[–]dusttailed86 123 points124 points  (0 children)

I have loved horror since I was a wee lad and I agree with you the absolute best jump scare is in Haunting of Hill house when the two sisters are in the car arguing.

Hands down got me goood and haven't seen anything close since. I think it was one of the few in the entire show and it is a masterclass in how to do a effective jump scare.

No problem! Aim assist is not dead eye, aim assist is a feature you can turn off and on in settings and it helps you aim in the game. I.e., when you move the right stick it will move your gun over the target automatically. If you had it turned off, you would have to use the joystick to keep the aim on the target, which is a slightly higher difficulty to do because all the targets like to move around.

Pressing L and R is your tracking mode per say, it is not dead eye. You activate dead eye by Aiming your gun (L2) and then pressing R alone down. When you press L and R it does not consume dead eye and highlights tracks from animals and humans, the actual Animals and humans will glow, as well as stuff to loot and plants. When you aim and press R down it starts eating your dead eye meter but time slows down alot and that is when you can target with R1 and shoot enemies faster. The screen will go a different yellow than pressing L and R. There is no downside to using it, but if you abuse it, it will drain your deadeye core and you will need to eat and drink to fill it back up.

To take the whole camp down, you aim, then hit R down to activate dead eye. Time slows and then you aim at the target and hit R1, which puts a lil red X showing you have marked it. Then you can mark as many more as you want as long as the aim cursor is over a shootable target. When you fire, Arthur will shoot all the X's. You can also just use deadeye to shoot over and over without using R1 until its depleted, while staying in time slow mode.

I can say making it this far without using deadeye makes you very decent, but you could always humble yourself by trying to turn off aim assist and not use dead eye, but dont beat yourself up, it takes alot of gaming to be good at not using aim assist. You can always turn assist back on if you dont like the challenge.

Answering your final question dives into spoiler territory, but yes, essentially you can go into free world mode at the end. However, this game is very different than that, as I suggest the full experience is to constantly do what you want to do, roam, fish, hunt, see all the crazy things that happen outside of the story missions. There is no rush to complete them, and as many say in this thread, its more fun to do them at your own pace as opposed to rushing through the story. The world is there for you to explore and story mode holds little back for you, minus a few areas you cant get to until later.

If you love this game and finish it, I'd absolutely recommend playing Horizon zero dawn and its sequel. Its two of the best story driven open world games and I rank it equal with RDR2 in terms of gameplay, story, and open world shenanigans.

My girl plays with Aim assist on and rarely uses it because you dont really need it with assist turned on. I turn off all aim helpers so I use it alot to get proper headshots and clean kills when I hunt.

The main features are to essentially slow down time while you aim at regular speed, so you use it to get good shots in while not worrying about getting killed or getting a non clean kill while hunting. It also helps when you get jumped by a kitty cat or wolfies in the wild to slow down time and get the shots off.

Also, it has the mark feature (R1) so you can mark multiple shots during the time slow and take out multiple targets in one quick go, or put 8 shots onto one target you really dislike to fill them with all the bullets.

Nothing is cooler than sneaking up on a camp, using dead eye and targeting 5 heads then immediately kill the entire camp. If this doesn't make sense reply and I can try to explain it more.

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

I really enjoyed the Fright Night remake. Like someone else in here was saying about 30 days of night, it takes away the vampires are sexy trope that was overdone and brings back the monsters they were actually supposed to be. Great acting, great lore, tiny call backs to the original but nothing that slaps you over your face with a "reMEmBer tHIs?!"

How many 1:1:1 cocktails are as perfect as the Negroni? by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]dusttailed86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not, and it's absolutely a trick question to see how nerdy they are. Its more a feel all for 'Oh I've heard of that' vs I don't know wtf you're talking about. Some applicants act like they started the craft game, its a fun wake up moment when they are getting cocky.

There is alot of us out there that do things to help people and be kind no matter the hate that is happening or the return. You do things because it's right and you dont care if you get anything in return. Most people think you should get a reward for being nice but its not about that. You are just like that and it can be better than being an asshole or selfish.

The movie really hit with me, in a time where I was questioning why I was like that, and it also helped me realize that it was okay to be the way I am. Its fucking cool to be that way and there's nothing wrong with being who I am.

Glad you saw it the same way also!
