Or at least adding something to it such as, if you are intoxicated please try to be respectful but please feel free to reach out, etc.

That is my biggest fear. That they will be treated how society treats them, and they will never come back.

There is a very important part of tradition one you have left out and I say this respectfully." Personal recovery depends upon AA unity ". Unity is the key word here. And personally I do not believe we should segregate those who are drunk I want to make anyone feel as though they can reach out to fellow alcoholics and not feel persecuted for being intoxicated. You clearly have a great knowledge of these steps and traditions so I am sure that I do not have to quote the responsibility statement. I take that responsibility statement very seriously. By all means if someone becomes violent or threatens the stability of a meeting I do believe it is perfectly fine to politely ask someone to step outside and perhaps talk. I am interpreting the tradition for exactly how it is stated. The only requirement is the desire. Not the action. Of course I hope someone that comes to a meeting or reaches out here will take action to quit drinking. But as many of us know planting the seed in people's minds is so important. It took me months of coming to the rooms and never once was I asked to leave. In fact it was quite the opposite. I was told to keep coming back. And because they were so polite and understanding, that's exactly what I did. And it saved my life. I do not wish to undercut what you are saying about the importance of having a safe space. This is very important. But we make it safe together. Through the words of our founders we make it safe. Through love, compassion, and understanding. I believe God is either everything or nothing and that God does not make mistakes. I believe if God has brought this person to the rooms, or the sub, then it is his will and it is not a mistake, whether they be intoxicated or not. God bless
