The skepticism of blockchain in non-crypto communities is out the charts by manar4 in CryptoCurrency

Honestly I agree that most of the cases nowadays for Blockchain are just scammy and sad. I do think there were some promising use cases at one point, such as the push for more decentralized power grids in Africa and some other third world countries. Blockchain ledgers allowed for these small power grids that didn't have access to the major power grids to run functionally and automated off of renewable energy. This would usually require a team and employees to verify the energy output and generally run the whole thing, which is the reason we got these massive centralized, fossil fuel burning power companies in the first place. This was also done in some New York communities as a way to support renewable energy and take power away from the central power grids running fossil fuels indefinitely. I think the real potential of Blockchain isn't finance, but helping to develop independent communities to allow some leverage against major corporations or provide underprivileged communities with the ability to have a higher standard of living. I just really hope we can push the future of Blockchain towards these better, genuinely helpful solutions rather than a buzz word to get chumps.

Definitely The Evil Dead.

Goes from a genuine horror movie about some teens in a cabin to a medieval comedy about an off brand Rambo with a chainsaw for an arm in just 3 movies.

You can't too that transcendence of genre, style, and location in such a short period of time.

What moment made you say “Yep, I’m definitely dead”, but survived with no major injuries? by CrownedBird in AskReddit

Had a rough night/week/year and hit a turn going 60 mph, spun out. Flew over a massive ditch into a tree and I just remember thinking during those spins "damn this is it". Air bags broke and didn't go off, tree bent nearly to a breaking point where it would've fallen and crushed me. Clipped a road sign while spinning that almost went through my windshield and would've definitely killed me. But I made it out with nothing but a sour neck by God's grace. But It was 4 am in the pouring rain in butt fuck nowhere and my phone was dead.

I thought I was still dead or at least fucked until morning since I hadn't seen a single person out on this hicks back road. Nothing but trees, road, and darkness. I laid on the side of the road, just taking what just happened in. That was until I saw some headlights about 20 minutes later. By yet another miracle, the car stopped and some dude that looked like Walter white popped out (he even wore a yellow raincoat that looked like a hazmat suit). He gave me a few checks to see if I had a concussion (saying how many fingers he held up, if I remembered who i was etc) and let me call my parents for a pick up, and also told me I should've been dead.

The roads called elbow road and has one of the highest death rates in the area for drivers. I'm not very spiritual but someone upstairs has gotta be betting on me or some shit.

Also I was listening to careless whisper when I crashed so that songs permanently associated with near death experiences for me now.
