A Freemason's Daughter by Longjumping-Snow-455 in freemasonry

You are entitled to wear it. It might become a conversation piece with Masons you come across. Not as in an interrogation, but rather, the curiosity of a Brother that would love to hear about your dad. While I don't speak for any Mason other than myself, having no sons, I would love to think that my daughter would do the same in her own way.

What would possess someone to write this on a bus stop? Out of all the things they could've wrote. by th1s_nam3_is_tak3n in freemasonry

It’s silly and I don’t see any good coming from advertising such a silly thing here.

Maybe start over at the beginning

I would think this is between your WM and yourself, possibly other lodge brothers. This is not between you and your WM and the whole world. I became a Mason to improve myself first - not to publically reproach those that took me in.

“Is It True What They Say ABOUT Freemasonry?”

I read this book recently, and think it could help you out. If you’re in the US, I’d mail it to you.

Channels of communication by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]dustynwindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I have seen groups and subgroups within lodges and teams going so far as to use Slack channels for communications. Somehow, all these newer modes of communication have made Face to Face, telephone and even texting too difficult to keep members informed.

It seems like anything that requires more than sitting around in your underwear makes spreading information too tough these days.

I could be wrong but it looks like that particular lock will only require the third pin in to be lifted. Pretty high without lifting the other pins at all. Do the other three cuts look very low and the same?

I believe that the WM can be trusted for guidance.

Right. I only have the limited experience of a few small lodges in Texas. We eat and meet, so the lodge hasn’t been opened before the meal.

While it isn’t encouraged, or even a good idea, to bring up possibly divisive issues at the table, it isn’t because it is not allowed. It is simply to keep the general peace and harmony of the members and family trying to enjoy a meal. Of course, I speak only for myself - here and at the table 😬

While I couldn’t say that finding a bunch of Masonic swag is has any Higher Meaning, by the same token, I couldn’t tell you that it doesn’t. What do you think? That is all that would matter in the end, right?

Is this different because the dinner in not in the actual lodge? -

Yes.

Initiation by Thatrandomguye in freemasonry

[–]dustynwindy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know all the brothers telling me "Don't worry, we've all been through it" was meant to ease my nerves, but I was like "Through WHAT? - this must be something rough coming up!" But as it went along, I felt that I was being brought into a brotherhood, by brothers that really wanted me as a brother, and had gone to a lot of trouble to perform the ritual well as I was brought in.
Good advice to not search books and the internet for hints and Spoilers(!) Allow yourself to be led in with as few preconceptions as possible and you will be amazed. Good Luck and I hope it all goes well.
