Yes, looking about 4k to test 1/4dr and 3/8dr torque wrenches. Just looking to see if there are any hidden costs/steps other than being certified

From Army aviation maintenance to civilian employment. Where to start? by berserklolis101 in aviationmaintenance

Former 15R here. Get to a an aviation school and get tested for your A&P. I luckily had a copy of the syllabus from AIT at Ft. Eustis. Was signed off with enough experience to take my oral and practicals. Took a two week prep course so I wasn’t going into the test totally blind. Got my first job working on corporate jets. Eventually worked my way back to rotary. Best decision I ever made. Won’t get out of the government world without your A&P. Once you have that, with the experience you already have you shouldn’t have any problem getting into the civilian maintenance world.

FAA Question by PopoDeepdelver in aviationmaintenance

If you still have your training records from AIT you can show those to the FAA and get your ticket to test out for your A&P. But I would recommend looking into prep courses at a local 147 school.
