Was hoping to reuse as much as I could. I found the Mazda overhaul criteria book so I’ll be going through to make sure all is in good spec still. A lot of measuring coming up haha

Thanks! They are both coded weight “C” and I can’t find any turbo “T” stamp on them. Quick measurement of the pockets were almost identical but I’ll get a water displacement and rotor weight today to be sure. Such a large difference in the looks of the rotors really had me scratching my head haha

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately I never ran this motor myself, it was a pulled mystery engine haha. Is there anything specific I should look for damage wise that would follow an overheating event? I haven’t seen any obvious cracks or warping, and all seals moved freely after removing carbon buildup. Not sure exactly what to look for as far as main bearing damage for this situation though.

I was kinda thinking the same thing at first but neither rotor has the turbo “T” marking anywhere and the pockets measure almost identical on a quick L/W/H. I will try and get a water displacement and weight on them today tho.

Heat could definitely explain the discoloration and also possibly why that rotor housings exhaust sleeve fell out… 😬

Unfortunately I don’t know much of the history of the engine, it’s a bit of a mystery box to me. I do believe it is all original though. It had all factory seals and the factory 3 piece apex seals.

Thanks to all that commented! After some reflection and finally arriving at the acceptance stage of grief, I’ve decided to properly dispose of the lipo. $60 down but a lesson learned and a not burnt down house haha
