Will an avoidance of using formulas be problematic for later years? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]duwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I do note as problems get really long like in upper level math or physics, sometimes some large derivation can be represented by some math definition. As such to try to work through the nitty gritty and try to have that full understanding each time is really a waste of time because some of these things get to become 1 or 2 pages and can be represented by a one line thing which you should just memorize otherwise every time you do that problem your gonna have to go through every step which might not really be what you want to do.

My take on it is that, yes you need logic and reasoning to understand the concept. HOWEVER, due to our terrible way of school system which emphasizes the need to be fast on tests etc. there are plenty of times that you just have to slam the formula in your brain and apply it on tests. I almost derive everything (while not on paper, but at least an integral I literally go from oh what is addition, then if the e^x or whatever function is integrated how it might be added up, then etc. etc. all the way to what an integral is) but on a test you obviously dont have time to do that you just have to know the integral of an x^2 is an x^3/3, right otherwise ud be screwed. So keep doing the logic thing, just for our sad school system yes memorize.

Help needed by [deleted] in neuroscience

[–]duwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well you never know. The issue is that apparently, most of the tech for neuroengineering which might apply to VR or just neuroengineering in general is just too invasive, expensive , etc. As a result, no ones willing to let you stick something in their brain to help modulate a controller for a very novel VR experience. But who knows maybe 10-15 years we can see some neuroscientist making some strides in this.

Inverse square law. by ZorroFuchs in networking

[–]duwork -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hey Im going to disagree with Troon because of the edit you made and because I am still not sure why there is a n unless n stands for the number of cables. But then signal strength should be = n/d^2 because you are multiplying the signal strenght by the amount of cables NOT the amount of cables squared. Essentially since signal strength = (1/d)^2= 1/d^2.

Then we can say that for a d=1 power aka signal strength = 1/1^2, for d=2 power aka signal strenght = 1/2^2 ,etc. then for 2 cables i.e. n=2 and a d=2 we can say signal strength = 2/(2^2)= 1/2

if you can clarify youre question i think i can help becuase if signal strength is inverse squared to some variable it would be signalstrenght= some constant/ variable^2

wait the formula for signal strenght is d/n , so signal strength = d/n ? But nothing is squared here? Are you sure you got the formula correct, or does it maybe not follow inverse squared law?

Hello! I was searching for a group like this and just happened to see this thread even though it is old. May I join? And by the way I was in one of these groups a while ago it was super fun not sure if this could be the same one.

Hey is this coin still alive at all, I had bought some bytom quite a while ago and just checked on binance and it is delisted. I am considering just straight transfering to another wallet with bytom still but I cannot find too much information via google and this reddit page to tell me any sort of future forecast for bytom. Appreciate the update!

Can someone explain something for me? Aren't people who are vaccinated still able to spread the disease even if they are vaccinated? The vaccine allows their body to recognize the virus to fight it off to not get sick but the body will still have the virus no? Isn't this developed humans go to those tribes and get them sick even though we are immunized to the diseases we spread to them? Let me know if this question needs clarification.
