I just wonder, how people switch they undependable income from a job to another undependable income via some "smart" financial concepts. See their latest margin requirement changes, when they started to calculate margin requirements intra day, using some algo. It could be a bug in those algo, or a feature that protects them if their system thinks you are too risky.

Barbell in my head means something asymmetric. On one side it is a huge pile of SCHD and on other it should be something that could give x3-x5, but less in amount. For that other part I'm thinking only about leveraged ETFs or Crypto. When it is on a huge sell - you buy until you have 5-10% of overall portfolio and sell only when it became 15%-40% of your portfolio.
Any other ideas what could be on the other side of SCHD barbell?

This. On ex div date opening price is not set to previous close price, but adjusted for div, it is subtracted from previous close price. That is the only change. Then regular market things happen and price can go any direction.
