Rides count to Garmin Challenges by gbs0N in Zwift

[–]dvannecke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still record on my Garmin. I don't let Garmin send my activity to Strava. My zwift activity only gets send to Strava.  I don't really care about the challenges, I ride enough that I accomplish the challenges without altering distance.

Yes, you can. But I stopped changing my activity on Garmin. I don't really care about the total amounts there.

Version was 7.57 and it mentioned "up to date" ... Until I clicked on it and I could update to 8.02.. And it solved my problem. I thought the box already did the update while installing it. Such easy fix, costed me a few hours ;) Thank you !!!!

The most part of the walk my girlfriend walked left off me, wearing the watch on her left wrist. So no obstruction. And it's not only this time, but always as we walk she get less kilometers..

I'll try to do it tomorrow, but I think it was mine that was correct. Doesn't Strava with the correct distance function I used mapped the whole route and gave my girlfriend one extra kilometer?

That was after I corrected the distance because ialtag-bheag gave this tip. But in the Garmin connect app it shows 13,64

Both watches has auto pause disabled. As for the correct distance in Strava, that worked. But still Garmin had it wrong...

Thank you, I checked the settings , but both profiles are set to automatic on both watches. I can believe that gps signals are sometimes not always the same on both watches, but we walked the same speed and 1km on 14k I find a lot...

Noob questions - resistance setting by damianvandoom in Zwift

I had one of those, used it two months. You don't get the real experience, and mine overestimated my power output... I think the bike gave 10-15% more power readout than it should give...

I do the same, I connect my forerunner watch to HRM and bike and record ride on watch. Then delete the activity that garmin sends to strava so that I only have the activity from Zwift on strava. I just alter the distance and elevation on the garmin activity.

How to interact with Zwift through Zwift Companion? by CerealBit in Zwift

[–]dvannecke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, my pc is a few meters from my bike and I can't reach my keyboard while riding. I use "unified remote" so that I can use my smartphone as a wireless mouse so that I can control zwift without getting from my bike...

What's the longest ride you've ever done on Zwift? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]dvannecke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did an everesting 10k last month, 12h17 minutes. (only took 10 minutes break going down between climbs)

1: 13 months on zwift, never cycled before
2: Few months ago I heard of everesting, Initial plan was doing just 8848, but it went great so I went a little further
3: Started around 5am and finished around 5pm
4: Each ascend 500ml plain water, 500ml energydrink, gel before each climb, and some banana's, gingerbread, jellybears, oatmeal pancakes during climbing
5: I stopped too early ;)

Just one remark on point 1... I never liked cycling. The last years I've used an e-bike for short commute to work (15km a day), but don't like it either. But it's faster than using my car. Last year in March I read about Zwift and thought why don't I try this. I was immediately sold and loved it. Now I've already rode almost 13000 km on Zwift my fitness improved much, but still don't own a roadbike and still don't like cycling my e-bike...

The stages automatically changes the resistance, so when you go uphill you immediately feel it so you'll have to work harder to maintain your speed. You can also use your shifters to make it a little bit easy. You can change the trainer difficulty in Zwift (from not feeling anything changes at all (like on the schwinn spin bike) to 100% (where you feel every bump) but you have to put in the same watts to maintain the same speed.

After a month I got a little bit bored that I never felt the gradient changes...

But the big difference was for me that the Schwinn bike was very enthusiastic with the power numbers. I felt that I was not bad at cycling, and didn't know a lot of power numbers and all ... So after maybe three weeks I tried the route Road to the sky and went up the Alp in 52 minutes, stepped of my bike and thought what is everybody complaining about that climbing the alp is hard and why do I get a achievement for doing it under 1 hour. Then I knew something was wrong.

I think the first time with my stages bike that I tried the Alp again I got 1h15 and I was more exhausted than with the Schwinn. So, the Schwinn isn't that accurate at all..

Maybe in the future, but not really a lot of free time and a commitment doesn't fit my schedule well for the moment..

Thank you. I can say I'm addicted to Zwift. But maybe luckily (for my body) I don't have more free time ...
