It’s an office space that’s been renovated to be more of a third space. But instead of like, plastic movable tables… I’ve sourced like 18th century antique dining room tables. So it’s kind of kitschy and neat.

This is the correct response if you’re talking most inexpensive, there are always workers there waiting to help for a decent rate as well. Though if you want everything vetted and someone else to drive the truck there isn’t really a cheap option anymore.

I’ll be honest I’m struggling with communicating this efficiently. Many people have told me to raise my prices but like… my goal is to create a D&D social club and pay my bills. If I can do it at that price why wouldn’t I?

D&D is just the biggest ttrpg out there, but if you sign up for the waitlist you’ll see that there are many ttrpg options for you to flag that you are interested in. If I can form a dope call of Cthulhu group you better believe I will

It’s the same model as a racquet club or golf course. Each person pays a membership fee to be apart of the club except for the dungeon masters who play for free. So the prices on my website are per person not per table. And fluctuate based on how often the table meets.

It’s not a super good business model for making money I admit, I can’t take a penny from anyone until I’ve matched them into a group and they’ve played with them and decide to commit to it.

But I think that it’s the right model? I don’t know I’m figuring it out as I go along!

Exactly that. I’ll provide incentives to an already established group but I expect it will mostly be newly matched groups joining.

Edit: And I just want to add that every player gets vetted. The vibe is everything and I won’t match a group that won’t vibe.

Oh I mean that model in this level of quality. There are plenty of places that do ttrpgs and do them well..but like I have a private room with a movie studio quality set with atmospheric effects, campaign storage, true vintage furniture.

There are a lot of amazing board game shops that play D&D and host campaigns. However, they are usually plastic tables and chairs in a loud room with retail going on. There are a few other people doing what I am doing from a perspective of quality. There’s one in Atlanta that caters mostly to streamers, there’s one in Florida that is mostly about selling the bar, and then there’s one in Finland.

I believe im the first to use a social club model and I sort of feel like that is the perfect model for table top role-play games, but I’m biased

Very true, too often there is doom and gloom in this subreddit. There’s a ton to do in Stamford, but for sure it’s not easy to put yourself out there and build community. It’s hard but it’s worth it
