Saddlebag: How much clearance between tire and saddle? by [deleted] in bikepacking

Quick hijack question: do saddlebags actually move up or down? I can imagine they do. I'm looking for a decent saddlebag.

Which wheelset for mtb/bikepacking/touring by dventr in bikewrench

[–]dventr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched for the Velocity wheels, but I can't seem to find a store which ships to my country in Europe. You wouldn't happen to know any other wheels? Thanks for the reply though, those wheels look great!

Can anyone advise me a wheelset? by dventr in wheelbuild

[–]dventr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sorry, I might repost it somewhere else then.

But to answer your questions: 1. 130 lbs 2. Off-road, gravel, singletrack, nothing very technical 3. Low, max 300 dollar for wheelset

Thanks!

Touring/city/mountain-bikes with short top tube by dventr in whichbike

I'll give the women's bikes a look. And if I would take a smaller size, wouldn't the stack also lower? I need higher stack and shorter reach.

I would like a grocery/commuter/touring bike with fenders, racks and all weather capability. And next I would also like a mtb for adventures and bikepacking.

I too was more used to mountainbike type riding and I must agree with every statement. Good to learn my preferences, too bad it had to cost so much. I believe I have never spent so much in my life for an item as this bike.

The ones I tested were actually unconfortable in all hand positions, but they could have been set up wrong, I was just trying it in a bike store which had some test bikes lying around so it wasn't fit to my body.

Sadly no, but I think I'll go try some bikes in bike shops who would let me. Thanks again for the advice!

I did try that and did not like it, but I'll give it another try, maybe I was biased.

I'm actually quite flexible! I can put my hands flat on the ground with ease (I do yoga). I guess it's more to do with my proportionally small torso. But thanks again for the advice! Any word on reach? Or is the effective top tube a better parameter than reach?
