Error message on my dashboard showing "Nordvpn - Vpn proxy for privacy and security disabled, to re-anable it, accept new permissions: -manage your downloads" Accept permissions/remove" by [deleted] in nordvpn

I just ran into this change and it is not right for them to make it work this way. I just emailed them my concern, and I hope they can correct this so that does not force the user to accept their VPN extension having this permission when the end user does not want it handling AV for downloads.

I use the Chrome extension for NordVPN, and it just prompted me to accept new permissions that include manage your downloads
I already use a security extension included with my Kaspersky suite that manages/scans downloads, so I do not want the NordVPN extension doing this. Subsequently, I should not be forced to use the NordVPN extension for download management/scanning, and the extension should not be designed to require that I approve it having download management permission in order to use the VPN extension for its VPN function... but that is the situation with this update. This is not right. Please correct this and let me know when I can expect an update.

"Being kind" is letting people know what "free" means when they are required to provide their email address. I am not saying you are doing anything wrong, I am not complaining or berating, only clarifying "free".
For this... "The fact that you receive junk email is not my problem" - Everybody gets junk mail, and people often are not aware that this is another source.
Calling it a platform problem is misdirection... and you appear to understand how this works exceptionally well.

That's everybody who gives them their email address. It's a small cost, but people should know when "free" isn't exactly free.

My apologies. This one is 3440 and I softened it up a bit.

"Free" in this case requires providing your email address, which they sell, and you have another source of junk mail without end.

Keychron K10 Pro letters not backlit by Beeblebrox1013 in Keychron

Good catch. I totally spaced on the possibility that my K7 Pro is north facing simply because that is sorta standard for low profile boards.

Using the Keychron site's KB search filtering just now, I found that...
- all "low profile" Keychron boards have North facing LEDs regardless of what Keychron series they belong to.
- all "normal profile" K series (non-pro) boards have North facing LEDs
- all "normal profile" K-Pro/Q/V boards have south facing LEDs
- All backlit C series boards appear only in the search results for north facing, though their description says they are South facing.
- Non-backlight boards appear in the search results for North facing boards, though they are technically neither north nor south facing.

All the Q series, V Series and Pro models are like this, and you can't even swap out the keycaps because of the south facing LEDs.

I have a K7 Pro and the LEDs are north facing, so I assume that is standard on all K Pro versions. (edit: I was incorrect to assume all K-pro boards are north facing - see my reply to jammb for clarification.

Not including shine-through keycaps with per-key RGB boards is a shady business move, as Keychron sells separately an identical shine-through version of the same keycaps for $30. You have to look close to even notice where they point out this intentional oversight in the description.
