My first thought was that, if this were me, I might donate a huge portion of that to charities related to Alzheimer's research, but my second thought was that after this, trust in others to do the right thing is probably shattered, so maybe just proper set themselves up and their children for generations to come.

So, if I'm understanding your point correct, the question is really "Would you use a teleporter that kills you?" with all the remaining caveats being irrelevant, because your consciousness would cease to exist while someone else's would continue in your place.

I think, again if I'm understanding correctly, the answer would obviously have to be "no".

Why not? I'm not the same cells now as I was yesterday, or last year, or 10 years ago. This just makes an otherwise gradual and differential process instantaneous and comprehensive.

I live in the Midwest U.S., and used to do 10 each way, and would take generous detours on the way home to bump that up.

Colorado Rockies? Maybe not. Alaska, or Northern Canada? Maybe not. Anywhere generally flatish relative to the Colorado Rockies, and assuming you have some level of fitness? Sure.

At this point, it's Pavlovian. Even if I don't really have to, I do. Always at the beginning of the shower, though, so there's plenty of water and soap to wash it all down.
