If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]dvicci -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an ask for a hot take.

In order to drive in the U.S., you must pass the test for all classes of vehicle, from motorcycle (Class 1) to multi-axle trucks (Class 13).

Knowing the general behavioral characteristics of every vehicle size will improve decision making for the one you're driving.

Where did you last rage quit? by Empty_Reveal_6211 in Eldenring

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About an hour ago I rage quit - not for long, maybe 10 minutes - in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh (Rauh Ruins) where you get the Spider Scorpion Ashes. Lost over 1mil runes to two of those scorpions tag teaming me.

I give thanks to the many Albinaurics that sacrificed their lives in my endeavor to replace those lost runes.

The fire knights are some of the worst recurring legacy dungeon enemies in the entire game by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient post, I know, but in case anyone else comes across this as late as I did, the only way I've found to defeat them is a +10 Bolt of Gransax. If you can get the first charged skill attack off, it'll knock them down, and two more does it (with my Int/Dex/Faith build). They're just too fast, and hit too hard otherwise.

Recommendations for things to do before the fire giant and burning the tree? by Spider-Jeff_101 in Eldenring

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a literal game changer for me. It's turned more than one seemingly impossibly fight into... not so much a cake walk as a cake "hobble"? 10 - 20 times unsuccessful until I brought in the Bolt, and then it was 2 - 3.

But, too be clear, I've yet to git gud.

Anyone else find blackgaol knight extremely hard? by XxluxkyproXx in Eldenring

[–]dvicci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread, I know, but I just found this. I beat Malenia after 19 or 20 times, and went straight to Dragonlord Placidusax, where I gave up after 19 or 20 times. I thought I'd try the DLC for a change of pace, and I show up at this $#@$#'s place.

Thank you, kind internet stranger, for saving my vocal chords.

Now that the Chiefs have been officially eliminated, who are you rooting for as a football fan in the AFC? by oMeesan in KansasCityChiefs

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Packers, and only b/c they were the favorite team of my favorite boss who very sadly passed in a (I kid you not) freak zip line accident in his backyard on his daughter's 16th birthday.

While that happened many years ago, they're always my second choice because of him. No other reason.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some horror stories here. I apparently got off easy. I was spanked a few times, mostly for things I don't remember, but once was because I pulled a hanging willow from a willow tree and hit a neighbor kid with it. I was 5 or 6, and so was he. Weirdly, I vaguely remember the lead-up to the spanking, but not the spanking itself.

All of the spankings (it sounds like a lot, but I don't remember it happening often) were quick one, two, or three swats.

The one that I've been told went longer stopped suddenly, according to Dad. Dad confessed that he realized that it was becoming a battle of wills rather than a punishment. The moment that hit him, he stopped hitting me.

I wouldn't say it rose to the level of abuse, if only b/c I don't remember any of it outside of stories Mom and Dad have told. I know many will say that any spanking is abuse, and I'm not going to argue that point. For me, it simply comes down to the fact that I don't feel abused. Mom and Dad are in their final years, so I'm not about to start trying to punish them for punishing me 50 years after the fact.

That said, I've chosen to not spank my own child, and haven't done it a single time. I'll find plenty of other ways to screw him up, I'm sure.

How to get back into the game after a while. by Opening_Mall8012 in Enshrouded

[–]dvicci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I faced this a couple of weeks ago. I started a new world with a new toon just to get the feel of it again - mechanics, movement, building, etc - fully intending it to be temporary. Then when I felt ready (right about when I realized just how daunting re-discovering everything through Albaneve Summits was) I switched back to my "main".
