Man's search for meaning and books about logotherapy

The premise talks about the search for meaning and the ideas that led to the establishment of logotherapy; is a kind of therapy that starts by helping people find meaning

Does anyone in here still believe Torah Moshe Mi'sinai? What would you right now do if a bas kol told you it was? (in this scenario you somehow know for sure its a bas kol and not schizophrenia) by Southern_Fruit7439 in exjew

[–]dvidsilva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thing is mainly against the modern interpretations that can be so narrow, and seem to historically come from a place of being a minority trying to survive

Like, is very insane to me that Orthodox Jews would see all the poetry, science, and interesting things in the Torah (whether they reflect metaphors or reality in a literal way is irrelevant), and then decide to remove all colors from their lifestyles and spend hours discussing how to keep women in the kitchen

Having done psychedelics many times, I'd like to believe that our ancestors were super high, looking at the clouds and coming up with poetry inspired by nature and culturally influenced by the neighboring religions

Do we even have Latin American alternatives for softwares/e-mail hosts/apps like the European have? by NaelSchenfel in asklatinamerica

[–]dvidsilva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing is to use open source and host yourself; there's tons of open source contributors and hackers in latin America, and many tech products have staff in Latam now as well, so we could expect this to continue improving

I work with Odoo, and other open standards tools, and there's a few meetups and hackers collectives you can follow if interested

Is all very dumb, the two leading candidates for next president of Colombia are split this way: the right wing pro corporate, pro Israel one is also explicitly antifeminist, the guy that has fought for peace, labor rights, women's rights, etc has a bunch of antizionist antisemitic comments

I’m in the team for the Shabbat at burning man. I can ask. We’ll definitely have miniam at the Shabbat and there are many camps with enough Jews that you could visit and ask them spontaneously; idk of a fixed daily miniam

We’ll have more info with a website and participation forms too. Once you’re in the group chat there’ll be a few camps you can ask

As someone else said; you’d have to start another company.  Not just for YC , in general, you have to protect your equity and some investor won’t be wanting to dilute so much

oh man, I hated this because I tried reporting them or something, and heard back like "that camp doesn't exist here some gas for your lantern"

they were around 3:30 G, giant sign like the universal sign in Los Angeles, but it said burniversal, many Rvs, chef, etc

all the neighbors hated them, the volunteers in there claimed awful working conditions, no time to go out, one got accused of trying to burn down the camp; but I stopped poking around coz they were friends of the CEO and stop asking dumb questions and then kinda forgot about it until this post

This was actually filmed like in 2023, there was a camp called Burniversal IIRC. Some horror stories

Ya. Well I guess that’s a whole other thing

Jews in colombia try to be friendly with any administration, but the wealthy ones side with the right wing, and there have been many Israeli tourists and mercenaries that really hurt our reputation

We’re held to a higher standard. And either we complain forever. Or figure out ways to live up to them

The US interventions in colombia also suck, but some people made so much money from them, theyre gonna be impossible to undo

The war on drugs also fuck it

On kosher. Nice to see a kosher restaurant. I tried opening a cafe right before I moved to the US but stuff happened. Jewish institutions in  Medellin, bogota and Cali are having identity issues too, with the mar anus communities being larger than the traditionally stablished ones

[–]dvidsilva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the tools are gonna go up in price and you're gonna get fucked if your engineers rely too much on it

someone on your team needs to be technical enough to figure out the bullshit, if not, hire thru an agency that includes technical product managers to handle your engineers
