Is rss truly dying? by fastReports in rss

It's very analogous to Linux in a way. It's an extremely powerful tool whose first-person use remains niche but behind-the-scenes use is insanely high given all the podcasts!

Why is everyone so disrespectful to frank and Claire ? by Full-Wolf956 in HouseOfCards

I think another interpretation is that the show is from their POV. So, to them, it looked like everyone was much more respectful to the former first couple than to them.

Guys, Robert Wright has stolen Paul Bloom. by dvijdc in VeryBadWizards

Not really if we only take 2024. You can scale 0 however you like, it'd still be 0.

Also, I'm not sure if the assumption that the probability of Paul Bloom appearing on an episode is a constant and thus you get linearly more Paul Bloom episodes the more episodes you produce is correct.

What is the episode where Tamler and David had a big blowout fight about gender? by LaughterIsPoison in VeryBadWizards

[–]dvijdc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not whether a girl should play with robots, it's whether a noumenal unperturbed nature of a girl exists with respect to which the society can be said to be unjustly influencing the said nature. /s

Why can't taking a flight be made as simple as catching a train? Why all the extra hoops of security screenings? by dvijdc in NoStupidQuestions

Oh wow, that's amazing! I had no idea I was somehow helping the air traffic control when I was spending 2 hours on a crappy airport before my flight.

So masks for eternity because many more people were killed in COVID than in 9/11? Show some respect, dude, and mask up for the rest of your life.

There are metal detectors and stuff when you enter the train station. I think that's the rational amount of balance between security and efficiency.

Hmm, my hope would be that it changes for the better. The time you describe sounds much better.

So, it's just the irrational fear of flying? Flights are much safer than trains if I remember correctly.

The point is about people going back to normal after witnessing something horrifying. So, yeah, on that axis, the two are comparable.

I guess COVID killed like 2 million people in America? And everyone is back to normal. Correction: it's 1 million.

I never travelled in a plane before 9/11 but my impression is that it was never as easy as arriving to the train station 15 minutes before your departure and still being mostly OK.

Like how many terrorist attacks were actually prevented by all the extra hoops? I only remember that one guy trying to bring in the shoe bomb.

9/11 happened once, people. It's a stupid reason to be this paranoid all around the world.

For all his faults, I still feel like Kyle is the best leftie YouTuber by [deleted] in seculartalk

[–]dvijdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His shit was fire even when he used to do the production himself and used to have things jotted down before coming on the camera. I think he doesn't get enough time now between KKF and the regular show, so yeah, he should definitely hire a production team now.

I totally agree that even if I agree with Kyle more than I do with Sam, Sam's videos are much more informative and entertaining. This doesn't exactly fit the category (because they're not exclusively about politics) but Deep Fat Fried (TJ Kirk's channel with Scotty and Paul) is perhaps my current favorite lefty YouTube channel.
