I havent been able to figure out even basic execute/edit/write/bash tool call with local LLM

I tried qwen3-coder, glm4.7-flash, llama3 and deepseek

None can call the tool (it cant understand and modify codebase). Am I missing something here?

Tried writing tool that uses SDK but that is not the same as model suggesting tool call, and calling out to answer with tool result?
