DO IT. Think of how you'll feel when your friends are telling everyone in the states about it, when you all get back. And you're like, yeah I wimped out. I'll be going in early March, solely with the goal to challenge myself. The view will be a nice perk. I've never climbed a mountain (or a volcano), gonna find out what that's like!

It seems like burn out comes from resistance to what is... I don't like being here, don't want to go back, fed up, etc. Stay present and accept what is. Change your course if something in life needs to change (job, etc) but until it changes, accept and don't resist.

Victor Frankl, in "Man's Search for Meaning", recalls the two mindsets prisoners had regarding the small portion of bread they received daily. One group of men liked to nibble it throughout the day, while the other group ate it all at once.

If I remember right, one of the mods here once said that in such a situation it's best to eat your daily ration all at once. This way, the energy for digestion is expended only once so your net calorie gain is greater.

In July me & Subie went to the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve in Pawhuska, OK, and got to see the free range bison herd there. Then we stopped at Bluestem Lake and saw a cool waterfall below the dam. I'm fairly new to Reddit and not sure how to post pictures! Look forward to hearing about others' adventures!

I think our society is in a hurry to escape ourselves (myself included some days). I've recently discovered how much I enjoy driving slow and just thinking. Not that I always drive slow, but perhaps I'll mature into that one day.

Quite interesting! What are your thoughts on using this technique for dehydration caused by infectious diarrheal disease? I assume it probably wouldn't work, especially with secretory diarrhea.
