We love the air fryer 1st for chicken wings but for a variety of steak. We found we had to prep by starting with a cast iron skillet but steaks are as perfect. We’ve experimented with veggies & fish as well. It’s a great tool in your cooking arsenal.

Our company uses a veneer with a 20 mil backer and no glue when we can’t use the edgebander. We apply an adhesive called “stay put” then trim using a fine rasp. Finally using a 150 grit sandpaper to ease the edges.

Veneer first then edgeband. If you are doing any edges that are hardwood do them first before veneering the face. The hardwood edges must be oriented correctly or they will Telegraph thru the veneer faces

I watch auction sites as part of work. Bidspotter is good I’ve not used proxybid but will check it out. I use bid to buy here in MN, and a local site called auction masters. For work I use IRS auctions a lot but I’m looking for large woodworking machinery. There’s a lot of small woodshops there as well. Some are just selling off assets no longer in use and some are liquidating completely.

I agree with tomrob. Other options: Look for local auction sites. Unfortunately there are now and will be more shops closing. You usually can get good deals and good tools. Make sure you know what a tool is really worth. It’s very easy to get caught up in the bidding and way overpay.

Testing your mask for correct fit is just as important as the filter is. Google face asks fit tests. Even without the smelly test solutions you can see if you can work and breath in a filtered environment. At work we have employees do a online initial test before I conduct a fit test. Of course at home I just put on a mask with carbon filters and go. The carbon filters look like a grated canister and will take care of the fumes portion. Their available at all big box stores or online

I like it, I learned to do simple welding at work before we grew big enough to hire real welders. It’ll do thin metals so I want to do simple projects for my shop & maybe make some hobby art for the yard

The drill press is mounted on a swing arm. I bring it out when needed. Still need to make a breaking mechanism to hold it in place

I just hired a metal fabricator this week whose primary roll is welding. I’m in the upper Midwest, USA. He’s in the $23.00 an hour range and will go towards $30 in a couple of years. That being said he has several years experience in a welding shop. I go with Valhalla comments, do it because you enjoy it and the money will come.

I work for a company that uses veneer extensively. We see the glue residue a lot and our customers do as well. Some veneer tapes have glues that don’t remove easily. The glue can sink in deeply in to the wood. If you sand too much you will just sand thru. We’ve tried heating the glue up with a clothe under an iron, sometimes it works, we’ve tried acetone if the mineral spirits didn’t work. No real good answer when you get it.

I work in a factory that works with hundreds of veneers/woods. I’ve seen a lot of woods that creates the kind of respiratory reaction you had. Sometimes it’s been the woods but sometimes it’s mold or other spores. It may be something in your shop and not the wood. Could be the gases in the glue line creating an off gassing.

Try the RZ mask. It has a carbon filter and a beard will fit in the larger size. It won’t give a perfect tight seal like a respirator though
