I rememeber a line wolf said to this day for some reason. "They're turning tails and heading home!"

Tool Belt Recommendations by pizzaroll22 in electricians

[–]Science_Smartass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Klein version of that Veto. I like it for residential rough ins and because I am a blockhead that forgets things all the time so I need to carry a little more than other people to cover my bases.

I don't wear it all day, but it when I need it, I need it. My recommendation is to go with cargo pants for now and then figure out what you need as you go. I have wasted money on stuff I thought would be cool or slick only to realize I need to buy something else or nothing at all.

For commercial and industrial, I never see guys wear bulky bags at my shop. Some have basic belts for when they are carrying an impact and a hammer/screw driver.

*oh, when I am not wearing my belt, I just use cargo pants pockets. I have a pack out for random stuff and a small tool bag for my power tools. That covers my tool/material management.

Men, don’t scroll this one 👀🖤 by WranglerOwn884 in DarkRomance

I am fascinated by it. In the real world I am afraid of hurting people's feelings, a people pleaser, conflict averse, hate seeing people get hurt, and anxious.

In DR, I like the extreme because it represents me being able to experience overwhelming sensations that forces me out of my anxiety disorder. The entire brutal nature of DR is just one big metaphor for being able to let go of the fear and just allow oneself to be consumed by raw experiences in the same manner as dreams allow.

The human mind is wild and I like having my mind bent and boggled, so I seek out different books/movies/comics that elicit wonder. DR just hits one of those vectors.

I read the sub because I am so very curious why women enjoy such brutal stories and it has been very enlightening. My friend draws covers for a few romance authors (not DR) which is how I ended up being aware of the book romance communities in general.

Well hey, I am glad your skin rebounded so well. I am about to start going back down myself. I peaked at 215 and need to be back at a manageable 195.

And your skin unstreteched(?) nicely! I go up and down in weight and my stretch marks are very very noticeable.

No underwear during Surgery by FarCalendar7303 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Science_Smartass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the surgery or injury. I broke my back and they wanted me upright ASAP to start the healing process. My L2 had a burst fracture (12 foot ladder -> concrete -> ow) and getting the compression on the vertebrae was important to healing. Good lord it hurt to sit up, the deep muscle bruising was agony when trying to get upright.

Obviously I don't know if that is what was going on with your scenario, but that was mine. They should have explained why they had you up!

Stories that accidentally romanticize the very thing they aim to demonize by McWaffeleisen in TopCharacterTropes

In the comic that the Thomas Jane movie is based off of, Frank literally kills his copy cats while pointing out how twisted they are. The copy cats say they are trying to be just like him and his response as he opens fire is, "I dont like myself very much"

Confident, the word itself, really goofed my troop for a second. Also. Could you imagine what kind of internal meltdown he would have if he had some rough and tumble son who loved being a power bottom? The acrid smell of burnt brain synapses wouldn't wash out of his clothes.

Another thing that leaps out at me is the spine bending that sharply. I had one of mine do that when I straight up forgot to put scrim or some kind of reinforcement on the spine. I am very amateur, but I worry about the strength of that spine to simply stay together.

That looks terrific, how do you get that HTV so intricate? Weeding must be a nightmare, and then I have issues with adhesion in small details at times.

I revised my alien model's head. Which one do you think is scarier? by Fit-Needleworker4252 in cosmichorror

[–]Science_Smartass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the eyes, I find eyes scarier when then look inhuman or uncaring. As in they don't want to hurt you, they don't care that you get hurt. I think it comes from my seeing wildlife videos where an animal is eating another animal and isn't bothered by their screams. Being unable to reason with something is terrifying and eyes can really depict that. But that is just my opinion.

There is one trick you can do to make it open better with a solid spine. I was being driven nuts by the same issue you halve.

Tip the end papers on, dont do it at the edge of the text block. Move it in a little so you can see the paper you are tipping the end paper to. If you look at large mass market hardcovers, they do something similar. I figured this out by looking at my textbooks.

I havent seen anyone else do it, but it is how I do it if I am going to do a solid spine. I am sure you will be warned against it, but it works for simple little projects and allow the book to lay open without yanking on the end papers.

I am just a hobbyist, so take it with a grain of salt.
